The Senior Consultant, DC Pensions & ESOPs is responsible for assisting with the managing of the design, development, communication and governance of the Bank’s Defined Contribution (DC) Pension and Employee Share Ownership Plans globally.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Support the review of pension policies and policy decisions, including research of competitive market information to assist in policy decisions and analyzing implications of policy changes. Manages the preparation of presentation material on plan decisions and strategy for management.
  • Coordinate the various phases of new plan launches and/or implementation of program modifications. Activities include project documentation process, socialization, external provider negotiation, and positioning programs for execution.
  • Conduct regular reviews of current programs and recommend improvements or new requirements for global DC and Share ownership plans.
  • Assist with the direction and management of the Bank’s outside suppliers such as actuaries, consultants, insurance carriers and outsource providers to ensure appropriate relationships are developed to obtain optimum service.
  • Coordinate with Global DB Pensions colleagues on common deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the financial planning and forecasting activities for global DC and Share ownership plans, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost analysis, and alignment with corporate financial objectives; monitor plan expenses, vendor fees, and funding strategies to optimize financial performance and compliance.
  • Support the preparation of presentation material on plan decisions and strategy for management.
  • Support the preparation of governance reporting of the DC pension programs to the various governance bodies
  • Be responsible for ongoing maintenance of a global DC pension database that will provide an inventory of existing DC pension programs and assist in key governance oversight and enable strategic decision making.
  • Prepare materials for the pension fiduciary and/or governance committee meetings. Participate in these committees including presentation of material and act as a Secretary as appropriate.
  • Support the Senior Manager DC Plans / M&A with HR activities during mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures by helping gather information and assist with due diligence processes.
  • Represent the Bank at external conferences to ensure continued development and compliance with best practices and market leading ideas.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience working with financial markets and DC pension plans.
  • Employee share ownership plan oversight and administration experience.
  • Experience working with recordkeeping vendors.
  • Knowledge of DC governance, investments, legislation, member behaviour analysis, retirement income adequacy, employee education and communication strategies.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions from an HR perspective is an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree in HR, Business or a related field.
  • Pursuing or completion of an HR Benefits and/or Investment related designation.
  • A combination of analytical and creative thinking skills, to assist with both the policy/plan design and communication aspects of the position.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to clearly summarize and effectively share complex information with various audiences.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, including the ability to build close working relationships with many individuals across the Bank and among external advisors and regulators.
