The Team

Scotiabank’s Cloud Security Engineering Team is responsible for leading security engineering and cross-functional product teams to accelerate the build of global security services, advance engineering capabilities, and work with global technology and business partners to lead foundational and transformational security products strategically across the enterprise.

The Role

As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will be a core member of the Cloud Security Engineering Team, responsible for leading the design, building, and patterning of security capabilities into foundational and transformational products across the enterprise in collaboration with various business lines, IT, and Information Security & Control functions. You will also serve as the lead subject matter expert in various security domains via Security Consultations.

• Identify evolutionary opportunities through centralization, automation, and risk remediation.
• Recommend strategic technology solutions and ability to see the big picture.
• Provide subject matter expertise on one or more Security Domains, acting as an internal consultant on all Security related items while participating in all phases of the project development life cycle.
• Lead technical designs solutions/reviews for enterprise security applications and technology initiatives focusing on Security.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

• You have 7+ years hands-on technical working experience in designing, implementation, and deployment of complex or large-scale applications/systems/platforms in an enterprise setting.
• You have solid knowledge of cloud technologies and cloud security (GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as a code).
• You are a recognized security expert with in-depth expert knowledge and experience in at least one security domain and have broad knowledge of information security.
• Familiarity with Security patterns/architectures.
• Ability to apply Security principles to Cloud Platforms and containerized applications to meet IT standards, methodologies, key management regulations, and audit requirements.
• Knowledge with full stack development and DevSecOps experience would be an advantage.
• You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
• Security accreditations CISSP, CCSP would be an asset.
• Experience in the financial industries.
