Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst
Requisition ID: 253571
Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.
Business Banking is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to partner with Business, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver technical solutions aligned to Business Banking needs and requirements for key modernization initiatives.
This role helps teams ship faster and safer by translating business intent into buildable requirements, clarifying dependencies and trade-offs early, and producing decision-ready artifacts that reduce ambiguity and rework.
The work spans a modern application suite that replaces legacy capabilities with API-first, cloud-native, loosely coupled services and experiences, integrating internal and third-party platforms.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Development, Business Banking Domain, you will partner with Business, engineering, product, security, data, infrastructure, and other application teams to deliver production-ready solutions aligned to enterprise standards for security, resiliency, scalability, availability, and regulatory compliance.
This is a hands-on BSA role. You are expected to contribute directly (and sometimes lead) through discovery, documentation, solutioning, mapping, and operational support to ensure solutions meet Business Banking requirements and expectations
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Own the requirements lifecycle for one or more critical Business Banking journeys—from discovery through delivery—ensuring clarity, traceability, and testability.
• Act as the primary contact point for business and development requirements; proactively surface gaps, dependencies, and risks.
• Review, analyze, and define application requirements reflected in business needs; contribute to technical specifications through clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Facilitate technical requirements and design sessions with multiple stakeholders to produce high-quality user stories, mapping diagrams, and end-to-end flows.
• Develop and maintain key analysis artifacts (process flows, sequence diagrams, data mappings) to align teams and accelerate delivery.
• Enable testing and release readiness by translating requirements into test conditions and expected outcomes across product, performance, UAT, and operational acceptance testing.
• Prepare concise, decision-ready updates for senior stakeholders—including scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and estimates—to support prioritization and planning.
• Manage new incoming requirements and intakes for technology assessment, ensuring consistent triage, documentation quality, and timely responses.
• Partner in (and at times lead) discovery and planning sessions; contribute to leadership presentations and reviews with clear narratives and data.
• Risk Management: analyze and contribute to application risk reviews and reporting (e.g., control gaps, change impacts, mitigation options) to support informed trade-offs.
• Support production health by partnering with engineering teams on ticket triage, root-cause analysis support, and prioritization of operational fixes.
• Prepare and execute health checks and operational readiness activities during deployments and key releases; document outcomes and follow-ups.
• Track and support remediation of security vulnerabilities by coordinating evidence, requirements impacts, and documentation updates.
• Maintain and improve platform playbooks, application support materials, and governance artifacts to keep them accurate and easy to use.
• Recommend platform and operational improvements by analyzing current practices, identifying waste/rework, and proposing pragmatic enhancements.
• Apply an innovation mindset to continuously improve how requirements are captured, validated, and maintained—reducing ambiguity, cycle time, and rework.
• Use AI assistants responsibly to accelerate analysis and documentation (e.g., drafting user stories/acceptance criteria, summarizing workshops, creating traceability matrices, generating test scenario ideas), while validating outputs for correctness and compliance.
• Help establish lightweight standards and reusable templates for stories, mappings, and diagrams; promote consistent quality across squads.
• Partner with the team to identify opportunities to automate recurring analysis and documentation tasks (within policy and data-handling constraints).
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Minimum 5+ Years experience with the following:
• Demonstrated experience leading requirements discovery and producing high-quality delivery artifacts (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, sequence diagrams, data mappings) for complex systems.
• Strong stakeholder facilitation skills across Business, Product, Engineering, and control partners; able to drive alignment and decisions.
• Experience working in Agile delivery models, including refinement and ceremonies, continuous improvement, and managing dependencies.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence (and similar collaboration/documentation tools); strong written and verbal communication.
• Risk-aware mindset with practical understanding of regulatory/compliance expectations and production readiness in a financial institution.
• Ability to operate self-guided: prioritize effectively, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
• Business Banking or broader financial services domain experience.
• Working knowledge of modern integration patterns and cloud-native architectures (API-first, event streaming, OAuth) and how systems integrate end-to-end.
• Familiarity with GitHub workflows and AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., Copilot) applied to analysis, documentation, and quality acceleration.
• Comfort interpreting logs/metrics at a high level to support triage conversations (without requiring hands-on development responsibilities).
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Customer-first mindset with strong risk awareness; bias for clarity, quality, and execution.
• Collaborative, proactive, and improvement-driven; comfortable operating across ambiguity and bringing structure to delivery.
