The Senior Business Analyst, Business Initiatives will report to the Manager, Business Initiatives and work closely with the Sr. Manager, Business Delivery. Overall, the role is designed to provide vital support in the overall development, planning and execution of new and ongoing business initiatives within Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser (SJF). 

 

This individual will be involved in supporting the rollout of national level projects that are geared to enhance field operations and sales to grow and scale in priority businesses. Some of these items include technology enhancements, marketing initiatives, and launch of tools that will benefit our sales team. Activities supporting these projects range from researching policies, consolidating data, various administrative tasks, to communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Demonstrating all ScotiaBond values in the execution of every task is crucial when representing SFJ. With support from Direct Manager, the Business Analyst will be responsible for creating and leading ScotiaBond initiatives for the SJF Executive Office team.    

 

Understanding the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, ensuring that all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

Support with the delivery and implementation of SJF Executive Office projects focused on business and growth enablement:

  • Work alongside Direct Manager and Senior Manager, Business Delivery in the execution of strategic business enhancements across the business.
  • Provide sustainment of SJF national programs.
  • Execute project enhancements and maintenance to make it easier to do business with SJF.
  • Support the creation and delivery of projects.
  • Work with project leads to organize and facilitate project training sessions for all SJF.

 

Execute marketing initiatives with the Manager, Business Initiatives by;

  • Actively participate in the Marketing Field User Group by taking notes and executing the projects presented by the team.
  • Research and analyze other Financial Institutions’ marketing initiatives to help identify marketing strategies that will support the SJF.
  • Manage and organize a quarterly audit on SJF LinkedIn users by analyzing and communicating with inactive users to reactive their accounts.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions on marketing platforms.
  • Executing marketing initiatives that support the business’s new SJF name. 

 

Create SJF Executive Office communications that highlight project launches, ongoing enhancements and sales team enablement by:

  • Conduct a LinkedIn analysis of other financial institutions and assisting the Manager, Communications with executing SJF LinkedIn strategy.
  • Create project communications projects that will be reviewed and approved by the Manager, Communications.
  • Create and organize the weekly newsletter project blurbs that will be shared with the Manager, Communication and distributed to all of SJF.
  • Support in executing communication strategy as needed and directed by Manager Communications

 

Contribute to the effective functioning of the SJF Executive Office team by:

  • Actively participate in team learning development and Achievers recognition opportunities.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Execute the SJF ScotiaBond Committee initiatives.
  • Provide support to key strategic initiates aimed to amplify SFJs Total Wealth offering
  • Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches by taking part in team meetings, working groups and special projects.

 

 

Education/Work Experience

 

  • University Degree or College Diploma (Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance) is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of products and services offered by Scotiabank partners is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SJF operations and sales environments is an asset.
  • Bilingual in French is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience working with social media platforms in a business environment is an asset.
  • Ability to understand change management is an asset.
  • Experience in executing and leading projects from start to finish is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to prepare communications and interact effectively with Senior Management, other Bank departments and external partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate data concisely.
  • Detail orientated.  
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate a positive and effective team environment at all levels of the organization.
  • Results/goal oriented and self-motivated and disciplined.
