The Senior Business Analyst contributes to the overall success of the Global Data Quality Assurance & Business Operational Intelligence team by monitoring controls, running scripts, ensuring timely updates to Accenture Data Quality Tool, data investigations, report creations and managing projects and initiatives end to end. This includes analyzing and executing on operational efficiencies, including but not limited to system enhancements, process change improvements, regulatory and compliance requirements and supporting prioritized initiatives across Global HR Operations. You will contribute to the overall success of Global HR Operations by ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. All activities must be conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Create and monitor global data quality controls and processes; establish controls, determine data targets, ensure updates or corrective actions are completed while working with people leaders to identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce manual errors, and enhance overall operational efficiency
- Continue globalization of data quality controls including assisting with data clean ups, creating processes, ensuring upkeep of rules and monitoring ongoing controls for sustainment
- Manage Accenture Data Quality Tool: monitoring outputs, ensuring controls are accurate, working with our technology partners to upkeep rules and system updates
- Provide value advisory and support on all projects/initiatives which have downstream impacts to data as well as ensuring alignment with adjusted active Data Quality or Quality Assurance controls
- Investigate and resolve data quality incidents in a timely manner, collaborate with business stakeholders as needed, minimize downstream impacts, prepare and present metrics, trends, gaps and opportunities to manager and business stakeholders
- Contribute to the identification of trends, gaps and opportunities through data analysis and makes appropriate recommendations to management. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where data mismatches are identified and downstream impacts are monitored
- Lead and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post secondary degree in Human Resources, Business (Operations), or HR Technology
- Prior experience in a Global HR Operations environment
- Deep understanding of Bank’s policies, processes, procedures and best practices
- Strong analytical skills, knowledge of organizational structure and complexity
- Strong knowledge keying and fixing errors in Employee Central, understanding data mismatches and downstream impacts including Time & Attendance and SAP Payroll
- Proven teamwork capabilities; strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Very strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong project management, planning, organizational skills while managing multiple initiatives
- Sound judgement to evaluate and analyze information, and effectively resolve issues
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
