Job Purpose:

The objective of this position is to fulfill a Senior Manager role within a team of professional IT auditors to assess the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls relating to applications, data, outsourcing, IT projects and processes supporting the businesses throughout Bank.

 

Key Accountabilities:

A significant portion of the accountabilities will relate to providing assurance over the Bank's IT application controls, data security, data integrity (quality and completeness), outsourcing, software development and project management controls throughout the bank.
 
This includes annual planning, engagement planning,  audit execution, problem identification, reporting, communication, and provides high quality, value added recommendations for the Bank's IT framework, processes and systems globally.
 
The incumbent will provide high quality, value-added advisory services to line management as part of audits or on special projects  and act as Officer in Charge (OIC) or team member for these audits and ensure Audit department standards are met on all assignments.      
 

 

Functional Competencies:

This is a position requiring expert knowledge and skillsets in the audit of application controls, data governance and management principles and projects.  The candidate is also expected to be knowledgeable with IT control principles, audits of IT processes and risks associated with outsourced IT services.  Some technical infrastructure (UNIX , Mainframe, AS 400, Network, Database, Windows) skillsets are also required. Knowledge of systems development methodology and emerging technology such as cloud , data lake and agile framework will be an asset. 
 
The incumbent will be required to work as part of a team that audits applications globally through out the bank  assist the Director of IT Audit in assessing IT application and data management controls within these areas. This position also requires strong skillsets around people management, relationship building and strategic influencing.   The incumbent should be proficient at applying risk-based auditing standards, practices, techniques, processes and methodologies and regulatory guidelines to the performance and review of audits.  

The incumbent will contribute to the Center of Excellence (COE) for IT Applications and Data Management Audit.
 
The incumbent must possess a combination of the following items:
∙  Strong IT Audit experience, preferably in a financial institution setting, or direct experience in a relevant IT environment. Including strong knowledge and skill sets in auditing applications, data, project and governance.
∙  Experience with auditing data quality (completeness, uniqueness, timeliness, validity, accuracy and consistency) using data quality testing tools. 
∙  Experience of using automation and data analytics tools including ACL, advanced Excel, etc.
∙  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and experience developing relationships with auditees.  Motivated, self-starter with a passion to learn and embracing new challenges.  
∙  Knowledge of data management and governance, data quality controls,  data dictionary, taxonomies and data lineage.
∙  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. 
∙  Strong project management skills and organizational skills.
∙  Excellent analytical skills, and ability to problem solve and multi-task. 

 

Education/Work Experience:

Requires an undergraduate degree and an IT Audit /Information Security professional designation  (CISA, CISM, CSX, CISSP, CPA,  etc).  Designations in Data Management (DAMA, CMMI) would also be an asset.
