Contributes to the overall success of the Private Cloud Engineering /Global Technology and Enterprise Platforms in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• You will research, design, test and deploy Cloud Platform on GCVE (Google Cloud VMware Engine), and On-prem VMware vSphere, vRealize Suite and VMware Cloud Foundation and Redhat Openshift.
• You will research, design, test and deploy Migration Solution (e.g. VMware HCX, Platespin etc.), work with migration team and project manager to define or generate data migration checklist to migrate VMware VMs from on-prem to GCVE
• You will research, design, test and deploy Cloud Infrastructure on Dell Powerflex and VxRail solutions.
• You can research/design/test new Cloud services in testing env and guide administrators to implement it into the production Private Cloud. 
• You will manage & administer backup solution for Cloud Platform
• You are not adverse in providing Levels 2 support & vendor escalations for Management tools & Cloud Services with on-call shift.
• You can develop & document operational procedures for service admin and operations teams. 
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or in a relevant field of study.
• 5 years IT experience in a highly regulated, global financial institution
• Expert knowledge in operating and supporting Windows Client Operating Systems in an AD environment 
• Advanced knowledge and good experience with End User Computing and system management tools such as Intune/SCCM
• Advanced understanding of Enterprise Desktop management practices and techniques
• Good understanding of ITIL framework
