Ensures all activities conducted adhere to governing regulations, internal policies.
The Role:
The Senior Information Security Analyst provides day-to-day GIAM operational support in accordance with the Bank's Information Security Standards. In this role, you will maintain productivity, management controls, system integrity and security while providing assistance to other team members as required. You will also be responsible for reporting internal control statuses to management with recommendations for remediation of risks and provide input to improve GIAM Logical Access Control processes and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Conduct Threat Risk Assessments on U.S.-based applications.
- Review security artifacts and documentation as part of the Threat Risk Assessment (“TRA”) process.
- Properly identify threats and vulnerabilities which can negatively impact the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and continuity of information assets
- Understand the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture and how it should be supported in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:
- Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a security analyst or advisor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include the creation of reports and the manipulation of data using the Microsoft Productivity suite of tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL to comprehend basic functions
- Experienced in ServiceNow and its implementation.
- Well-rounded interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally, based on Scotiabank’s values of respect, integrity, passion, and accountability.
- Dynamic personality, able to work with a wide scope of work that is ever changing.
- Familiarity with security technologies and tools used for risk assessments, compliance monitoring and audit processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Understanding of information security frameworks (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, COBIT)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and provide practical solutions.
- Certifications in information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM CRISC) are a plus
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and guide a team in transforming cloud security solutions and advisory services.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align cloud security transformation efforts with the organization’s broader business objectives and digital transformation strategy
- Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to foster cross-functional collaboration with cloud architects, developers, DevOps teams, and senior leadership.
- Communication: Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify security risks and develop innovative, scalable solutions in cloud and application modernization contexts.
- Influence: Ability to influence decision-making across teams and stakeholders, ensuring security practices are adopted throughout the organization.
Working Conditions
Work in standard office-based environments located in Scarborough and Downtown Toronto; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. No external travel required.
