The Financial Reconciliation team is responsible for developing, managing and executing the centralized financial reconciliation processes within the Bank. The Financial Reconciliation process is a critical process in supporting the Bank's RDARR (Risk Data Aggregation & Risk Reporting) compliance.  This team is also responsible for all-bank IBA ICA reconciliations and executing the Investment Report (IR) reconciliation. 

The Senior Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for reviewing and monitoring the IBIC (Inter-company and inter-branch) Reconciliation through effective control in accordance with the bank's policies and procedures in order to minimize the bank's exposure to potential risk. The incumbent will also assist with other reconciliations as needed. 

The incumbent works closely with GFT team to facilitate the development and enhancement of IBIC system. The incumbent will also take the leading role for the related projects.  

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

 

  • The incumbent will review, monitor and supervise monthly IBIC reconciliation to ensure the overall IBIC balance could be eliminated to the reasonable threshold at all bank level. The incumbent will mainly cover but not limited to monthly IBIC  Reconciliation. The IBIC reconciliation process will include: 
    • Perform, review and supervise the IBIC reconciliation analysis and control processes
    • Provide support to identify and investigate the outstanding variances and issues in timely and accurate manner 
    • Prepare and review IBIC reconciliation summaries in details to ensure the accuracy and completeness before present the summaries to senior managers
    • Escalate significant reconciliation issues to the Senior Manager and/or higher on a timely basis
    • Act as backup to the team during the team members' absence 
    • Make sure the data and accounts maintenance for IBIC reconciliation were performed timely and accurately  
    • Perform or review the year end CMP report  
  • Manage user access requests and performing periodic access reviews to ensure compliance to IT application control requirements. 
  • Take the leading role to meet all audit requests related to IBIC timely and accurately. 
  • Update and review policy and documentations for audit purpose (SOX documentation and IBIC reconciliation policy) . Make sure the Desk Top Procedures are updated for the reconciliations assigned.   
  • Provide coaching and training to team members, transit owners and related internal parties 
  • Provide support to and perform other reconciliations (Other GLRAS reconciliations or Compensating Control reconciliation,IR Reconciliation) within FAR upon request.  Act as the backup for the other team members to perform other reconciliations during their absence.
  • Perform other projects/duties as assigned or required by Management. Work with GFT team to enhance the IBIC system. 
  • Assist Senior Manager for team building and management 

 

Experience / Education:

 

  • Ability to gain understanding of the Bank's accounting systems and procedures quickly (EGL,OBI,Smartview, IBIC) 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills; ability to identify issues and find solutions
  • Attention to details; strong time management and highly motivated to produce accurate and complete information under tight deadlines 
  • Flexible in dealing with changing reconciliation process and increasing responsibilities 
  • Strong communication skills, as this role works closely with various departments with the Bank 
  • Superior Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookup; Macro (VBA) etc.; prior accounting reconciliation experience 
  • Sound knowledge of Bank's Products
  • The incumbent should  have Post undergraduate degree, Preferably in Business. Working towards a recognized accounting designation (CPA,CA, etc) or CFA is an asset. Candidates in the final year of their certification would be considered based on prior experience.
