Title: Senior Analyst, Value Creation Office
Requisition ID: 262329
Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.
Scotiabank's Global Finance Value Creation Office (VCO) is a high-impact team that partners across Global Finance to accelerate transformation – solving complex problems, building new capabilities, and delivering measurable business value. We move fast, work cross-functionally, and tackle the initiatives and business problems that matter most.
As an Analyst on the VCO team, you'll own meaningful workstreams from day one — driving analysis, shaping executive deliverables, and working alongside senior leaders to deliver high-priority initiatives across Global Finance. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to be at the center of how strategy turns into execution at one of Canada's largest banks.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Drive analysis that shapes decisions: Structure and lead analytical workstreams, synthesizing data to identify opportunities, quantifying financial impact, and developing actionable recommendations that inform executive decision-making
- Support strategic initiatives end-to-end: Drive the planning, execution, delivery, and value realization of high-priority programs across Global Finance – building strong cross-functional relationships and helping ensure initiatives are well-scoped and aligned with strategy
- Build and advance Finance capabilities: Design and implement new tools, processes, and communities of practice (e.g., business intelligence, automation, learning pathways) that strengthen how Global Finance operates
- Build compelling executive materials: Create concise, insight-driven presentations and deliverables that articulate value drivers, trade-offs, and expected outcomes for senior leadership audiences
- Drive program governance and delivery: Manage project planning, status reporting, steering committees, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to keep initiatives on track and well-coordinated
- Tackle high-priority problems as they emerge: Take ownership of ad-hoc strategic projects in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where the VCO is called on to add value quickly
- Champion an inclusive, high-performance culture: Foster energy, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset within the team and the broader Global Finance community
- Operate with integrity: Understand and apply Scotiabank's risk appetite, Values, and Code of Conduct in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Ownership of workstreams across a portfolio of concurrent strategic initiatives spanning multiple Finance priorities
- Regular interaction with and presentation to senior leaders (Director, VP, SVP levels) and enterprise stakeholders
- Work that involves a high degree of complexity, ambiguity, and interdependency across finance and non-finance functions
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in finance, consulting, strategy, transformation, analytics, or project management; internship or co-op experience considered
- Identify opportunities to deploy AI solutions and support their implementation across the business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to breaking down complex problems and drawing practical insights
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill information into clear, concise deliverables for senior audiences
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in productivity and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with business intelligence / visualization tools and automation is an asset
- Intellectually curious, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Experience or interest in management consulting, corporate strategy, finance transformation, or process improvement is an asset
