The Role  

 

The Senior Analyst, Supplier Insights and Strategy possess strong business acumen while providing analytical expertise, including data analysis, visualizations and reporting through executive reports and presentations.  

This role is a key member of the Supplier Insights and Strategy team providing deep analysis and technical expertise to enable the leadership team to meet business targets and strategic objectives.

  1. Market Intelligence & Supplier Benchmarking 

  • Performs quantitative and qualitative research on suppliers, market, pricing, and external events that will impact Bank’s 3rd party expenses and Sourcing strategies; The effort will involve helping in developing creative ways to search for credible information. 

  • Supports relationship with third party research providers to inform sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and category decisions.  

  • Coordinates supplier benchmarking exercises, including pricing competitiveness assessments and contract term analysis across financial institutions and peer benchmarks. 

  • Translates external research into concise executive ready insights and recommendations for senior procurement and business stakeholders.  

  1. Data, Reporting & Analytics Enablement 

  • Provides analytical support to senior members of the team in creation of presentation materials and dashboards  

  • Supports building executive-facing presentations for monthly performance, reporting, annual planning, and other leadership reviews 

  • Undertakes data analysis to assess quality and meaning of data (spend data, supplier data, contract data etc.), prepares reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data 

  • Supports enhancement of procurement analytics assets, including spend dashboards, savings reports, category views, and expiring contract analyses, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.  

  1. Procurement Financial Analysis & Savings Governance 

  • Supports Finance validation process through report building, documentation and periodic stakeholder meetings.  

  • Supports savings reporting, forecasting impacts, and reconciliation in enterprise systems.  

  1. Stakeholder Partnership & Advisory 

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to Sourcing managers and leaders in Procurement by responding to analytical and market related requests.  

  • Supports cross functional working sessions and meetings to align on savings methodologies, data requirements, and reporting expectations.  

  • Communicates insights clearly through executive presentations, written briefings, and formal documentation for leadership, audit, and governance purposes. 

  1. Collaboration 

  • Partners with supplier management managers, strategic sourcing managers, and Procurement business partners to ensure effective procurement delivery and supplier oversight across the Bank. 

  1. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 

  1. Champions a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates team members by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. 

  1. Collaborates with supplier management managers/strategic sourcing managers and the Procurement business partners to ensure ONEGPS support and delivery to our business partners across the Bank. 

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have:    

 

  • Has a solid academic background - Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Finance, or related field; Master (MA or MSc) in Business or related field preferred  

  • Prior experience of 3+ years in Data Analytics, Procurement, Consulting or Financial Services roles 

  • Possesses excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of data and interpret a wide range of supplier and organizational information and options to support procurement planning and decision making 

  • Has strong foundation and/or hands-on experience using visualization tools (PowerBI, MS Excel) 

  • Is an expert in preparing executive-facing presentations for monthly performance, reporting, annual planning, and other leadership reviews 

  • Has strong business acumen and ability to draw insights from complex information into executive-facing presentations 

  • Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating the results of your analysis, and effectively manages the interface with relevant stakeholders 

  • Is Pro-active and a self-dependent individual who can manage multiple projects at a time with limited supervision, able to prioritize and balance workload, ready to go the extra mile to support projects without compromising on quality 

  • Strong and structured approach to problem solving with execution orientation 

  • Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is preferred.
