Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Senior Analyst will play a key role in delivering financial and management reporting while providing meaningful insights to support business decision-making. The successful candidate is a proactive, results-driven professional with a strong sense of curiosity and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Working closely with business partners and stakeholders, the Senior Analyst will develop a deep understanding of business drivers and financial performance, leveraging data and analysis to identify opportunities, influence decisions, and drive value-added outcomes.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Act as a trusted finance business partner, supporting the delivery of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial and management reporting for key stakeholders.
- Analyze financial results and performance metrics to ensure accuracy, completeness, and meaningful business insights.
- Leverage financial and management information (MIS) data to deliver reporting, analysis, and recommendations that support decision-making.
- Support the analysis of Credit Card portfolio performance, including balance sheet trends, net interest income and margin, non-interest revenue, provisions for credit losses (PCL), expenses, and other key performance indicators.
- Prepare and present financial dashboards, business reviews, and management reporting packages for senior business and finance leaders.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and provide value-add insights to business partners, finance teams, and key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, improve efficiencies, strengthen analytics, and reduce operational risk through digital and automated solutions.
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting outputs.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, desk procedures, job aids, and training materials to support reporting activities and knowledge transfer.
- Utilize financial reporting, planning, and forecasting tools, including EGL, OBI, SmartView, and Hyperion.
- Support strategic initiatives and project analysis, including revenue opportunities, strategic transactions, new product launches, and other business growth initiatives.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or progress toward a professional designation is preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Finance, or a related analytical role.
- Strong understanding of financial and management reporting, forecasting, and performance measurement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Think-cell, with strong financial modelling and dashboard development skills.
- Experience leveraging reporting and planning tools such as OBI, Hyperion, SmartView, and EGL is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver under tight timelines, and respond effectively to evolving business needs.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Understanding of banking financial statements, profitability drivers, and retail lending products.
- Knowledge of portfolio management, Net Interest Income (NII), Net Interest Margin (NIM), Non-Interest Revenue (NIR), product pricing, funds transfer pricing, balance sheet management, and capital management concepts is considered an asset.
