The Senior Analyst role supports the Director, Portfolio Analytics & Insights by delivering high-quality portfolio insights, dashboard development, and data enablement for Unsecured Lending portfolios. Ensures that insight output is accurate, scalable, and executive-ready, while building strong foundational credit risk and analytics capability.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

1. Portfolio Insights & Dashboard Execution

  • Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards covering portfolio performance, credit quality, losses, PCL, vintages, and key risk indicators
  • Support recurring and ad-hoc packages in other formats for senior management and governance forums
  • Ensure consistency of metrics, definitions, and presentation across all outputs

 

2. Data Preparation, Validation & Quality Control

  • Extract, transform, and prepare data using SQL and SAS and/or Python
  • Perform data reconciliations and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Proactively identify data issues, breaks, or inconsistencies and support remediation

 

3. Analytics & Insight Support

  • Support portfolio segmentation analysis, trend monitoring, and diagnostic analytics
  • Assist with ad-hoc analytical requests and deep-dive investigations led by the Director or Senior Manager
  • Build understanding of key credit risk drivers across unsecured lending portfolios

 

4. Governance, Controls & Documentation

  • Support OSFI, Internal Audit, and internal governance requests by providing data extracts, reconciliations, and supporting analysis
  • Maintain clear documentation of data sources, logic, assumptions, and calculation methodologies
  • Ensure all processes align with internal controls and audit expectations

 

5. Collaboration & Development

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager to understand business context, risk priorities, and stakeholder needs
  • Continuously develop technical capability in Power BI, SQL, and SAS/Python
  • Contribute to process standardization, documentation, and automation initiatives

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 1–2 years of experience in credit risk analytics, business intelligence, or financial analytics
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and comfort working with large datasets
  • Clear communicator, able to explain data and findings succinctly
  • Working knowledge of SQL required
  • Exposure to Power BI required
  • Exposure to SAS and/or Python is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to unsecured lending products (Credit Cards, Line of Credit, Overdraft Protection) is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or related field) preferred
  • Graduate degree considered as an asset
