<span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Purpose of Job        

 

  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Be responsible for establishing and maintaining NAV oversight workflow, process and procedure; perform oversight functionality
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all workflows on the mutual funds, ETFs and NAV oversight operations
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Plan, lead and execute projects related to the operations of the funds
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provide reporting, analytics and support as needed
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work closely with management to identify efficiency and new reporting capabilities to embrace continuous improvement initiatives

 

<span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Key Accountabilities

 

  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">NAV oversight on accounting and custody for the Tangerine funds and ETFs, which includes but not limited to, review of incomes, expenses, corporate actions, reconciliations, distributions, transfer agency transactions, daily performance against benchmark reasonability etc.
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Facilitate NAV related issues, monitor timely resolution, and escalate appropriately
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Document new process and procedure, provide training materials and walkthrough of the workflow
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Independently lead projects and work closely with management and business partners to plan and execute up-coming initiatives
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Act as the primary contact and change agent for all projects executed under Fund Administration
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop close working relationship with all internal and external business partners, including but not exclusive to Investment Counsel, Auditors, Legal & Compliance, IT teams, sub-advisors, custodians, prime brokers, Intake, Products and derivative counterparties
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all areas in Fund Accounting to provide solutions to address day-to-day issues;
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Research on the trending developments in the mutual fund industry and provide recommendations to management on the up-coming changes and challenges; continuously review business operations to identify gaps and minimize risk exposures
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Prepare presentation to business partners and communicate project updates to management
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work closely with Manager to execute Business Continuity Plan (BCP) related activities
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participate in the financial reporting period to complete regulatory filing in a timely and accurate manner

 

<span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Functional Competencies

 

  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum 5 years of mutual fund experience, 2 year of project management experience and 1 year NAV oversight experience
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with regulatory reporting requirements in Canadian Mutual Fund Industry, such as OSC and IFIC
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to write excel macro via VBA is an advantage
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Superior proficiency in fund accounting systems, such as MCH and MPOWER, as well as knowledge in Bloomberg terminal

 

 

<span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Educational Requirements

  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">University degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent;
  • <span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">CPA/CFA/PMP designation or active candidacy is an asset;
