Contributes to the overall success of the Accounting and Financial Operations team that supports the Automotive Finance (AF) business line in Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The Senior Analyst is responsible for preparing subvention invoices issued to manufacturers and for maintaining processes related to these Accounts Receivables for Automotive Finance & Indirect Lending. The Senior Analyst also supports the month-end close process and supports lease related reporting.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Manage the end-to-end subvention accounts receivable process, including the distribution, tracking, and reconciliation of invoices with manufacturer partners
- Analyze and identify incoming subvention payments, coordinating with manufacturers to obtain required details and ensuring accurate allocation through the Business Services Centre
- Monitor aging receivables, proactively follow up on outstanding balances, and escalate unresolved issues in line with internal guidelines
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, disputes, and exception requests in a timely and effective manner
- Administer lease escrow contributions by tracking monthly requests, monitoring account activity, and ensuring completeness and accuracy of manufacturer remittances
- Prepare and deliver lease escrow reporting and analytics to support senior management decision-making and financial oversight
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and contribution to financial reporting and disclosures
- Process accounts payable transactions and maintain oversight of vendor invoice tracking for Head Office operations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, including reconciliations, GL attestation, SOX reporting, and adherence to governance frameworks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Dealer Finance, and Business Services to resolve issues and drive operational efficiency
- Contribute to a high-performing team environment by supporting colleagues and actively participating in achieving departmental objectives
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- University degree in business, accounting, or finance is required
- Working towards an accounting designation or MBA is an asset
- Database related (MS Access, SQL scripts) work experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of the banking industry with demonstrated analytical skills
- Solid knowledge of Automotive Finance products, with specific knowledge of internal Bank systems (ALS COM, Retail Loan Platform, Flooring & Leasing, On-line Loans) is desirable
- Working understanding of the Bank’s budgeting and financial reporting processes and standard accounting policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of and hands-on experience in the database management (MS Access, design and development, SQL statements) is preferred.
- Thorough working knowledge of business-related computer software including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
