The Senior Analyst, Expense Management plays a supporting role in the month-end and quarter-end of expenses at Tangerine. They will support the budgeting and forecasting processes and are responsible updating files and provide accurate expense reporting. The Senior Analyst will report directly to the Manager, Expense Management
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Support the expense team in the consolidation of total bank expenses and analyze variances
- Prepare monthly operating results and perform variance analysis
- Perform reasonableness tests, conduct in-depth analysis and work closely with business to understand expense variances and impact to plan/ forecast
- Provide clear commentaries on variances and highlight any risks/opportunities
- Play a key supporting role to Canadian Banking Finance for timely consolidation of Business Line financial results. Provide clear variance commentaries against Plan and Forecast
- Perform reconciliation of reports to ensure accurate and complete management reporting
- Support the delivery of annual plan and monthly forecast
- Co-ordinate and communicate timelines for inputs from teams. Ensure timely collection of data and perform reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of total bank’s expenses
- Support end-to-end plan and forecast process including producing reports required by Canadian Banking Finance and Tangerine
- Collaborate within FP&A teams (IT Finance, Projects, P&L consolidation), Product Finance and Financial Accounting & Operations to ensure accurate financial close and timely reporting
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Accounting designation with over 3 years of experience in progressive FP&A/ finance roles
- University degree in business, finance or equivalent
- Must have: Proficient in excel, Power Point/ Think cell
- Ability to analyze business results, identify issues and trends, and communicate findings/analysis in a clear and concise manner
- Strong communication skills (listening, documentation and presentation skills); ability to work effectively in a team environment with peers and superiors across organization lines
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities and work under extremely tight deadlines to deliver a high-quality output
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong collaborator with business groups at all levels of the organization
- A superior understanding of elements of effective control over integrity and completeness of financial reporting; attention to details.
