Purpose
 
The Senior Analyst, Enterprise AML Program Reporting role is part of the Enterprise AML Program Reporting team within the Enterprise AML Risk Global Policy and Standards (GPS) function. The Senior Analyst supports the reporting requirements of various program areas by developing and maintaining reporting tools, templates, and dashboards that are utilized for Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) senior management and governance committee reporting. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Enterprise AML Program Reporting, the Senior Analyst will help ensure the timely and accurate identification, assessment, and reporting of program areas to enable the monitoring of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Program. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the broader Enterprise AML Program Reporting team as well as various stakeholder groups to ensure that information is effectively reported to FCRM senior management and governance committees in accordance with the Enterprise AML/ATF and Sanctions Program Reporting Standards.

 

Key Accountabilities 
 

  • Supports implementation of the Enterprise AML/ATF and Sanctions Program Reporting Standards and related processes.
  • Supports production, maintenance, and enhancements of tools, templates, and reporting dashboards using Microsoft solutions such as SharePoint and Power BI based on defined workflows.
  • Responsible for the conversion and deployment of manual reports into automated reporting solutions and processes.
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of scheduled, new, and ad hoc reports, and change requests related to reporting tools and processes. 
  • Builds processes to validate the quality and integrity of the data included in all reporting, including conducting user testing to ensure tools and dashboards are operating effectively.
  • Maintains and enhances data visualization dashboards to assist with ongoing assessments of effectiveness and sustainability of the program.
  • Develops and maintains supporting documentation including procedures, job aids, user guides, and training materials on reporting processes and related activities.
  • Provides training and guidance to support stakeholders to ensure accountabilities are executed timely and accurately.  
  • Ensures that reporting tools are operating in accordance with the End User Computing (EUC) standards. 
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to establish an accurate understanding of requirements and recommends approaches and solutions as appropriate.
  • Liaises with business partners to facilitate discussions on reporting requirements, data specifications, and priorities to ensure timely and accurate reporting. 
  • Supports stakeholder engagement and alignment by coordinating meetings with the relevant stakeholders within FCRM for continuous feedback.
  • Investigates potential issues with tools and dashboards and ensures timely resolution through engagement with relevant stakeholders.
  • Supports the maintenance of the GPS intranet website, including the posting process of Enterprise policies and standards, and related communications. 
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
  • Additional accountabilities as required.
     

 

Experience / Education:

 

  • 2+ years of banking or financial services experience, preferably within a risk management function, including experience in developing management reports
  • Prior exposure to a control environment in risk management, compliance, or audit.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with reporting visualization tools, such as PowerBI, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), and SharePoint. Advanced skills using Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).  
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver results in a multi-faceted and dynamic business environment.
  • University degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics is desirable
  • ACAMS designation or equivalent preferred
