Title:  Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence Systems

The Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence Systems is responsible for administering subvention invoicing and performance reporting for the Indirect Auto Manufacturer programs offered by Automotive Finance and Indirect Lending (AF&IL) business line, and for providing support and service to AF&IL management team on all matters related to AF&IL data, data sources, and data extraction processes.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Responsible for the manufacturer subvention invoicing calculation process for all Indirect Auto Manufacturer partners (new loans, CPO, lease and sub-prime):
    • Calculates subvention amounts and prepares the subvention invoicing data and flat files for the manufacturer partners 
    • Assists Senior Analyst, Finance with manufacturer representative inquiries and disputed subvention amounts
  • Responsible for subvention program performance reporting process for all Indirect Auto Manufacturer partners:
    • Prepares and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly subvention program reports (buying statistics, Loyalty Program, daily/monthly/YTD bookings, etc.) to all stakeholders, including variance analysis, as well as trend lines and benchmarking against best practices
    • Responds to manufacturer representative inquiries on discrepancies and irregularities on manufacturer subvention program reports. Investigates concerns through AF&IL Data Mart, Information Technology and Solutions (IT&S), Canadian Dealer Lease Services Inc. (CDLSI), dealer portals, and other data sources to resolve and respond to the manufacturer representative
  • Reviews manufacturer subvention program reports for consistency and accuracy and provides recommendations to Senior Manager, Business Intelligence and Information Systems on solutions to improve manufacturer reporting processes     
  • Administers and maintains AF&IL and DMS databases used for manufacturer invoicing, manufacturer and AF&IL management reporting processes, provides recommendations to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence and Information Systems  on solutions to improve invoicing and reporting processes, makes changes to Access database scripts to accommodate manufacturer’s requests for changes in manufacturer reporting/invoicing, based on the instructions from the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence and Information Systems.  
  • Responsible for the analysis of integrity of data used for manufacturer subvention invoicing and manufacturer reporting including periodic reconciliation of data sources.
  • Provides resolution to manufacturer representative’s requests for information on invoices, program performance reports, trend analysis, new initiatives/programs and any other data-related inquiries for Indirect Auto Manufacturer programs.
  • Provides resolution for data related issues & support to core constituents - AF&IL Management team, Dealer Finance Centers and Canadian Dealer Lease Services Inc.
  • Ensuring adherence to Information, Security and Policy Privacy Requirements.


Experience / Education:


  • 1-2 years of database related (MS Access, SQL scripts) work experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of and hands-on experience in the database management (design and development, SQL statements, macros, data import/export, complex VB scripts).
  • In-depth knowledge of business related computer software specifically Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Expertise with data analysis and programming
  • Knowledge of Python preferred
  • Knowledge of financial management concepts and accounting principles
  • Knowledge of software development and implementation process
  • Strong customer service attitude
  •  University degree in computer science, engineering, business or similar field is required
