Contributes to the overall success of the Collections department of Scotia Dealer Advantage in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Create, review, and maintain/distribute of necessary reporting required to achieve key performance indicators, service level agreement and operational business controls and achieve SLAs and identified compliance/regulatory controls.
- Provide analysis of business data using advanced analytics and modelling tools
- Work closely with team members, business partners, and management to clearly understand business and/or data requirements to provide intuitive files/reporting in user friendly format.
- Develop and maintain complex databases and reporting to support Department needs. This will include current reporting and future developments
- Prepare reports for trending info/analysis, obtaining and reviewing explanations for discrepancies as well as preparing management reports for review which includes analysis and recommendations. This includes providing analytical support in the implementation or review of new/existing projects, systems, processes, and technology as well as assisting in the delivery and implementation of solutions as required.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
- Conducts payment collection activity to provide the Bank with optimal delinquency ratios and loan loss levels by: acting in a timely manner to identify the risk associated with all assigned accounts and executing prompt action to minimize loss and secure the Bank’s position; conducting timely and constructive collection activity by telephone, letter, text message, e-mail, or other appropriate means.

- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
- Hands-on experience of SSMS, SQL Server Management Studio and SSIS, SQL Server Integration Services, and SSIS project deployment and SSRS, SQL Server Reporting Services
- Experience with reporting & statistical software packages such as SAS, SQL, report builder, Power BI, and Python (Experience with Python is a nice to have)
- Experience with SAS to SQL code migration • Results driven individual with high level of curiosity and ability to dive into details without losing sight of the big picture
- Exceptional organization skills to prioritize, manage, and implement a variety of competing initiatives, on a concurrent or staggered basis
- Two years’ experience in a collection’s operations environment delivering performance reporting is a nice to have
