Contributes to the overall success of the Audit Department globally by providing varied and confidential management and operational analytical support by ensuring administrative projects assigned are effectively conducted and specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 


Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:
• Champion a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Be accountable for the analysis, reconciliation and report preparation are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. 

Prepare and maintain various Audit Management Staffing/Resources dashboards and budget reporting:
• Coordinate the monthly collection and consolidation of global audit staffing data.
• Assist in the review, analysis and preparation of Audit resources reporting tools e.g., monthly/quarterly Operations Report, Global Organization Chart, etc.
• Assist in developing, generating, and monitoring of various metrics to assess the effectiveness of various transformation projects.

Provide Administrative Support by:
• Reporting and responding to ad hoc requirements received from Management at VP+ level.
• Providing support with Commercial Card Visa applications and cancellations.
• Providing support with Institute of Internal Auditors group membership allocations.
• Back-up for Senior Management (SVP+) expense claim approvals through CentreSuite.
• Admin Review of Closed Low-Risk Issues.

Provide analytical support on budget, accounts payable, and goal & plan compliance to the Audit Professional Practice team, the department senior management team and Finance by:
• Refreshing Audit’s budget models to support the Audit EO and Audit IB budget, variance and forecast consolidation and analysis reporting each quarter, and on an annual basis.
• Coordinating and consolidating monthly budget forecasts/actuals input from all Audit International Banking offices, for the APP Operations Reporting (monthly) and the ACRC of the Board (quarterly).
• Preparing the IB Budget and Forecast plan carve-out for all Audit International Banking offices for submission to the Audit IB Senior Vice-President to facilitate tracking/reporting of expenses to refreshed/refocused forecasts.
• Assisting in the preparation, submission, and support of department Business Line allocations (BLA) for the Audit EO budgets, including updating the BLA model for the Audit EO transits on an annual basis.
• Preparing and submitting the quarterly Transfer Pricing charges for Audit Canada, assisting in the preparation and submission of the annual Transfer Pricing budget for Audit Canada.
• Maintaining ongoing tracking to fulfill Intercompany Attestation, IT Cost Split and Global Audit Training reporting.
• Preparing accounts payable entries; executing chargebacks to/from countries/other Bank departments; performing PS Con Ledger report reconciliation; investigating unknown expense items posted to Audit Canada GLs; preparing monthly accrual entries for Audit Canada.

Provide operational support to the Audit Professional Practice, Learning and Development team by:
• Accurate tracking and logging of Global Audit Team employees’ attendance for various on-line sessions and Lunch & Learns completed through me@scotiabank, learning portal.
• Running ad-hoc reports for specific training metrics, including the weekly class schedule in me@scotiabank, learning portal.
• Supporting the Audit Planning dashboards by preparing and analyzing data from audit system download.
• Supporting Compliance-Related activities; including the review and tracking of the Enhanced Monitoring and the IIA Code of Ethics acknowledgement for the Global Audit Team.
• Performing other duties of a similar nature or level for the Audit Professional Practice Team as required.

 

 

Do You Have the Skills?
• Spanish language skills highly desired.
• Post-secondary Degree in Business or similar discipline with 2-3 years of relevant experience
• Strong business and analytical skills with the ability to focus on key issues and solve problems.
• Sound knowledge of business/bank terminology and departmental processes and procedures
• Customer-oriented with strong attention to detail & organizational skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Strong sound judgement and interpersonal & relationship building skills.
• Ability to adapt well to new situations in a rapidly changing environment and to cope with stringent deadlines.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a high-level accuracy.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
