The Senior Analyst, AML Data Quality supports the development, implementation, and sustainment of the Data Quality/Issue Management process for the AML Data Domain and collaborates with stakeholders to improve data quality through roadmap and remediation activities.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Support and participate in the operations of the AML Data Quality Monitoring (DQ) Process based on Enterprise Data Office guidelines and policies, including intaking additional AML sub-domains (Name Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Payments Screening, Customer Risk Rating, Regulatory Reporting, Management Reporting, and Risk Assessment), CDEs, and DQ rules
  • Collaborate across the end-to-end lifecycle of AML data quality issues, including identification, impact assessment, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, validation, and closure
  • Support and participate in the assessment of data quality risks across AML sub-domains, including Name Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Payments Screening, Customer Risk Rating, Regulatory Reporting, Management Reporting, and Risk Assessment
  • Collaborate on issue closure, ensuring the process is sustainable, evidence-based, and defensible, with documentation suitable for audit, regulatory, and internal review
  • Interpret and apply enterprise data standards, data quality definitions, and issue management frameworks in ambiguous or non-standard scenarios
  • Constructively challenge remediation approaches that do not adequately address root cause or risk
  • Support the design, execution, and maintenance of AML data quality monitoring and issue management activities in accordance with Enterprise Data Office guidelines
  • Analyze data quality metrics and trends, translating technical results into clear insights for senior stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting using Power BI, JIRA, and related analytics tools
  • Utilize enterprise platforms and tools (e.g., Hadoop EDL, Hive SQL, Python, Governance Console, Collibra) to support monitoring, analysis, and reporting
  • Perform all activities in alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite, risk culture, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles
  • Support audit, regulatory, and second-line reviews by providing accurate, well-supported data quality evidence and explanations
  • Identify when data quality matters warrant escalation through established governance channels and support the preparation of governance-ready materials
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of AML data quality and issue management practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and effectiveness of monitoring and reporting
  • Support additional AML data activities as required

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data issue management within a financial institution, preferably in AML / Compliance
  • Experience with enterprise data governance and issue management tools (e.g., Governance Console, Collibra)
  • Experience supporting audit, regulatory, or second-line oversight related to data quality or data controls
  • Knowledge of data platforms, data management, data models, and data processing in Hadoop EDL, using scripts/tools such as Hive SQL and/or Python
  • Experience designing and delivering Power BI dashboards and management reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of AML data domains, regulatory expectations, and enterprise risk management concepts
  • Experience in taking data issues, tracking progress, and reporting as part of monthly Business Working Group sharing with stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to influence
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex data issues and apply sound, risk-based judgment
