BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
 
The Senior Business Analyst contributes to the overall success of the National Sales Management team ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the business’ strategies and objectives. 
They are responsible for effectively and efficiently managing several policies and procedures regarding core ScotiaMcLeod programs related to compensation and performance reporting.
 
IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU:
In this role you will: 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manage multiple processes and programs and provide day-to-day operational support by:
    • Developing a strong knowledge of ScotiaMcLeod Advisor Compensation, payment structures and client grouping methodology to provide accurate reporting and resolution to enquiries.
    • Liaise with all levels of Sales Management to drive resolution to business issues in a manner that is aligned to strategy and supports the needs of the field and business.
  • Assume end-to-end ownership of projects:
    • Conduct interviews, define scope, research, analyze and document stakeholder needs. 
    • Develop proposals, assist with the design of new programs and deliver quality solutions.
    • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, providing progress reports and recommending actions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement by studying current practices as it relates to Sales Management and ScotiaMcLeod Advisor teams:
    • Assist with the design and development of solutions to meet ongoing business needs.
    • Ensure all interdependencies and impacts to steady-state systems and operational processes are identified and addressed.
    • Prepare technical reports and facilitate the creation of new reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends as relevant.
    • Ability to understand and identify financial data/gaps, recommending controls and writing improved procedures.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture is considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 
DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS

We would love to work with you if you have:

  • A good knowledge of wealth management concepts and financial instruments.
  • Business Degree & Canadian Securities Course (CSC) preferred.
  • Knowledge of back-office processes; brokerage operational processes and end to end workflows an asset.
  • Knowledge of Broadridge, AS400, MS Access/VBA, SQL, Visual Studio, .NET Framework preferred.
  • Must be a proactive, organized, self-starting, results-oriented and highly motivated individual
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and analytical skills and great attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills to effectively work with stakeholders, partners and senior management.
