INTRODUCTION:

 

Join ScotiaMcLeod’s National Sales Management team as a Senior Business Analyst and play an important role in supporting a national wealth management platform. In this role, you’ll use your analytical mindset, business knowledge, and stakeholder management skills to deliver meaningful reporting, improve processes, resolve business issues, and support the needs of Sales Management and advisor teams across the country.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

 

    • Contribute to the effective functioning of the Sales Management team by:
      • Developing a strong knowledge of ScotiaMcLeod Advisor Compensation, payment structures and client grouping methodology to provide accurate reporting and resolution to enquiries.
      • Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business lines and corporate function contacts.
      • Own weekly, monthly , quarterly and ad-hoc reporting.
      • Actively participating and contributing to touch bases and team meetings.

     

    • Manage multiple processes and programs and provide day-to-day operational support by:
      • Continually acquiring and enhancing knowledge of the business and policies, back-office processes to be able to provide effective business support.
      • Liaise with all levels of Sales Management to drive resolution to business issues in a manner that is aligned to strategy and supports the needs of the field and business.
      • Ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.

     

    • Assume end-to-end ownership of projects by:
      • Conducting interviews, defining scope, researching, analyzing and documenting stakeholder needs.
      • Leveraging source systems and databases for data extracts.
      • Ensuring  a robust understanding  of the underlying information to identify inconsistencies within data sources.
      • Compiling and organizing the data collected in a clear and consistent  manner.
      • Identifying and investigating  issues to ensure validity of conclusions.
      • Developing proposals, participating in implementation of new/enhanced tools by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, developing implementation strategies, providing user training and post-implementation support.

     

    • Identify opportunities for improvement by studying current practices as it relates to Sales Management and ScotiaMcLeod Advisor teams. Assist the Manager/Team in resolving highly complex, multi-faceted problems by:
      • Applying business knowledge to the design of methodologies, data and system solutions, analytics, and insights.
      • Ensure all interdependencies and impacts to steady-state systems and operational processes are identified and addressed.
      • Prepare technical reports and facilitate the creation of new reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends as relevant.
      • Ability to understand and identify financial data/gaps, recommending controls and writing improved procedures.

 

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS:

 

  • 2-5 years Business Analysis experience
  • A good knowledge of wealth management concepts and financial instruments inclusive of the services across Scotia Wealth Management.
  • Knowledge of back-office processes; brokerage operational processes and end-to-end workflows considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Advanced Excel knowledge required to effectively analyze data and identify trends.
  • Knowledge of Broadridge, AS400, MS Access/VBA, SQL, Visual Studio, Power BI considered an asset.
  • Must be a creative, proactive, organized, self-starting, result-oriented and highly motivated individual.
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and analytical skills and great attention to detail.
