BRIEF INTRODUCTION:

 

The Foundation Associate role within ScotiaMcLeod provides proactive administrative support to the ScotiaMcLeod Charitable Foundation and day-to-day management of a donor portfolio with charitable beneficiary relationships. The role also contributes to the growth of its Share-the-Wealth strategy by delivery of various events and administrative support for projects across Canada including the bi-annual ScotiaMcLeod Advisor Conference.  

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role you will:

 

1. Administration and Relationship Management support

  • Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with leadership to execute strategic programs for successful fundraising initiatives, events and campaigns to increase donor engagement including promoting the Foundation through social media outlets and communication platforms (LinkedIn, scotiamcleodcharitablefoundation.org, CanadaHelps, SM Weekly)
  • Plan and execute the annual Share the Wealth Awards Campaign by handling any inquiries regarding the nomination process, investigating discrepancies pertaining to applications and verifying charitable status of recipient charities
  • Oversee budgeting, document control and compliance for donor records
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and best practices.

 

2. Meeting and Event Planning

  • Build close relationships with internal and external partners, acting as a liaison, ensuring alignment of event goals with organizational standards
  • Support the oversight and management of the budget with key stakeholders/organizers including data collection, reporting, and compliance for event-related financial transactions
  • Provide operational oversight for participant registration, communication workflows, and event documentation

 

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS

We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Relevant training and experience, preferably through a diploma or degree program in nonprofit management
  • Three to five years of administrative and event management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to think proactively with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills, with the ability to work with short/long timelines and deadlines
  • Experience with calendar management and prioritizing activities
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams, MS Forms) and basic understanding of Quickbooks
  • Experience working with events, charities, and/or in the financial industry would be a great asset.
