Purpose

 

The Director, Strategy & Business Enablement provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight of business operations and projects across McLeod. The role contributes to the overall success of the business by ensuring strategic objectives are executed effectively and all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Director works closely with senior management, business line leaders and a diverse set of stakeholders to develop and execute ScotiaMcLeod strategic mandate. The Director is expected to deliver strategic advice that solves business problems through research, analysis, compelling strategic recommendations, execution and monitoring.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of short- and long-term strategies, policies and programs for all of ScotiaMcLeod with the objective of growing the business and maximizing new opportunities with future clients while providing best in class service and advice  
  • Drive accelerated delivery of Total Wealth solutions through a strategic roadmap and targeted initiatives that emphasize financial planning, wealth transfer, and insurance for existing clients, prospects, and enterprise accounts
  • Enable, grow and amplify ScotiaMcLeod culture and programs to attract, develop and retain Advisor Teams
  • Lead Partnership initiatives for ScotiaMcLeod involving key Bank partners, including comprehensive project plans, coordinated with business lines where applicable, to ensure deliverables and timelines are met by all work streams
  • Complete environment and client research to determine emerging issues and trends with NPS and analyze the impact / implications of those trends on the various business line strategic plans
  • Lead the development and delivery of communication, marketing and change management strategy, including partnership with key stakeholders and execution of plans
  • Manage the organization of strategy offsites/conferences for senior management to facilitate ongoing strategy discussions, as well as various training initiatives
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders within the Bank to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives

 

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS

We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in Business Administration
  • 10+ years working in a distribution channel or support function for a major financial institution
  • Significant experience developing and delivering business line and/or executive communications
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
  • Capable to engage and work directly with senior leaders across the Bank (from SVP to Group Heads) – need to be able to win their trust and build strong professional relationships
  • Superior interpersonal skills, leadership and influencing capabilities on a multi-cultural environment
  • Self-motivated; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams
  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills, ability to discern research information / data and focus on the critical business issues
  • Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, its partners and external vendors
  • Exceptional presentation and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management
