INTRODUCTION:
The Communications Manager contributes to the overall success of ScotiaMcLeod in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. They ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
In this role you will:
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Manage communications for the ScotiaMcLeod business line by:
- Working with business partners to write, review, and edit communications for the weekly newsletter and SharePoint site.
- Maintaining an editorial calendar for the weekly newsletter and review all requests for relevancy and timeliness.
- Managing and updating the ScotiaMcLeod SharePoint site, including editing and posting content
- Managing and distributing email alerts to the field, responding promptly to requests.
- Managing the ScotiaMcLeod Communications mailbox and distribution lists, ensuring prompt response and accuracy to ensure privacy and confidentiality of communications
- Assisting with communications and administration related to internal programs, including rewards and recognition trips and events.
- Supporting the Senior Manager, ScotiaMcLeod Communications, with all communication needs.
- Provide ongoing, high touch support to the ScotiaMcLeod Advisory Board(s) through oversight of meeting and event co-ordination and working closely with the Board Chairs to plan monthly virtual meetings, curating invitations and agendas, and writing meeting summaries for distribution.
- Plan and delivers logistical support for annual/bi-annual in-person meetings, including planning hotels, catering, and speakers.
- Deliver cohesive, aligned communications by building trusted relationships with partners across Global Wealth Management and fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with key business partners, Branch and Regional Management teams, and ScotiaMcLeod senior leadership.
DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS
We’d love to work with you if you have:
- University degree in English, Communications, or related subject
- 5+ years of experience in Communications, preferably in a financial services environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to plan and create effective content across multiple channels
- Excellent and demonstrated ability to take complex ideas and translate them into digestible key messages
- Must be a creative, self-starting, results-oriented and highly motivated individual with a strong ability to reconcile competing or conflicting goals in order to help resolve business problems of varying complexity
- Strong strategic thinking skills and financial acumen, with excellent attention to detail, and high-level accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects.
- Ability to work independently or in a group as required
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Flexible and willing to take on new challenges as they present themselves
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
