Role 

 

Contributes to the overall success of the Talent & Core HR globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities

 

Design & Build Integrations on SAP BTP

  • Architect and implement integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI), API Management, Event Mesh, and Destination/Connectivity services.
  • Develop and maintain secure RESTful APIs, webhooks/events, and batch interfaces across EC, WFS, SAP Payroll, ECP Payroll, and Fieldglass.
  • Optimize data flows for real-time and near-real-time use cases, ensuring resilience, idempotency, and observability.

Migration from SOAP to REST

  • Lead the refactoring of legacy SOAP-based integrations to REST/OData; redesign schemas, contracts, and error-handling patterns.
  • Implement modern auth patterns (OAuth 2.0, SAML, mTLS) and enforce API governance in API Management (rate limiting, API keys, policies).
  • API Expertise (EC & WFS)
  • Utilize SuccessFactors SFAPI and OData APIs for EC modules (user/person, employment, compensation, time off, etc.).
  • Integrate WorkForce Software APIs for time/attendance and scheduling; manage mappings, pagination, throttling, and retries.

Integration Analysis & Documentation

  • Perform current-state assessments: catalog interfaces, message flows, schedules, dependencies, and data lineage.
  • Produce high-quality documentation (interface specifications, API contracts, sequence diagrams, runbooks, error taxonomies).
  • Establish and maintain integration inventories and configuration baselines for auditability and support.

Quality, Monitoring & Support

  • Implement testing strategies (unit, integration, regression) and automated deployments (Transport Management, Git-based CI/CD).
  • Configure and maintain monitoring/alerting via SAP Cloud ALM, BTP logs/metrics, and CPI message trackers.
  • Provide Level 3 support for production issues; lead root cause analysis and preventive remediation.

Security, Compliance & Performance

  • Enforce data protection (PII handling, least-privilege access), encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Conduct performance tuning (batch/windowing, parallelization, message size optimization, caching).
  • Ensure alignment with corporate integration standards, audit readiness, and change management controls.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with HRIT, Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Vendor teams to prioritize and deliver integrations.
  • Translate business processes into technical designs; communicate trade-offs and provide solution recommendations.
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Skills and Experience

 

  • 7–10+ years in enterprise integrations; 5+ years specifically on SAP BTP Integration Suite/CPI with HR domain experience
  • Proven experience integrating SuccessFactors EC, WorkForce Software, SAP On-Prem Payroll, SAP ECP Payroll, and Fieldglass.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with SFAPI & OData APIs (EC), WFS APIs, and Fieldglass APIs.
