Canadian Banking Technology at Scotiabank supports the full spectrum of technology needs for the bank’s Canadian operations, covering a wide range of banking products and services. Within this group, the Commercial Lending team plays a key role in supporting Canadian Business Banking, Regulatory, and Compliance initiatives. We are committed to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and stakeholders.
As a Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of software solutions within the banking domain. You will contribute to testing strategy, planning, execution, automation, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and cases based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Support automation efforts using tools such as Selenium, Java, Maven, TestNG, and Cucumber.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices.
• Prepare documentation such as test strategies, test plans, and exit reports
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• University or College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience working within SDLC/TDLC environments.
• Familiarity with SQL queries and mainframe systems for test validation.
• Strong experience in test planning, execution, and defect management.
• Experience in automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, Page Object Model).
• Experience with Excel API and test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Git.
• Experience in the Canadian financial services industry is a strong asset.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Innovative and creative problem solver.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
