International Operations, Technology Support Solutions team leads business transformation with technology solutions for IB countries and IO governance team.

Purpose:  

  • Design build and support web applications using React.JS, Python, Django, Flask, Selenium, MS SQL Server, JavaScript, Json, Ajax and other frontend & backend technologies
  • Enhance and Support Legacy Applications using .NET, MS SQL Server.
  • Enhance, Support and scale data extraction from core system using ETL tools like SSIS, SAS.
  • Build technology solutions, process automation and reports that will assist IO governance and executive team with decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Technology team, business partners and stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver solutions in an efficient manner.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Analyze business requirements, translate it into technical plan, proof of concept, mock-ups and provide accurate work effort estimates as per Scotiabank’s organizational design patterns.
  • Design and develop user-friendly web-based applications using OOP, reusable code and libraries with performance and scalability.
  • Testing of website using proper use cases to guarantee correct functionality, consistency to minimize technical and organizational risks.
  • Deploy, maintain, and support web applications as per bank’s security standard and business SLA.
  • Design, manage and support reports built using SSRS, Tableau and Power BI.
  • Comply with organizational policies, procedures in accordance with the Bank’s Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF), Architectural Review Board and IT Security requirements.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation and diagrams such as application design, operational procedures, user guides, flow chart, process, and data diagrams.
  • Learn and adapt quickly with new technology, develop creative and manageable solution to complex problems.
  • Process Analysis for Improvements and building creative solutions to generate operational efficiency and increase productivity.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ Year’s experience with relational database model and data mining using MS SQL Server, SSMS and building stored procedures, functions, and views with better performance.
  • 5+ Year’s experience with Python, Django, API, JSON, and MS T-SQL.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a software developer or similar IT roles.
  • Proficient in Front-end Development with React.js,  HTML5/CSS3, CSS grids, JavaScript and DOM along with experience in Node.js, asynchronous request handling and partial page updates along with  Back-end development using AJAX, API, JSON and Python Packages.
  • Familiarity with code versioning tools such as TFS/Azure DevOps, GIT and BitBucket.
  • Experience working in both traditional and agile project management along with good understanding of PMI frameworks and its processes.

Nice to have:

  • Experience deploying Python Django application on IIS is an asset.
  • Experience with Windows Server environment and PowerShell scripting is an asset
  • Experience with Cognos Impromptu is an asset.
  • Experience with SAS base programming is an asset.
  • Experience with Data analytics, data engineering and dashboard reporting is an asset.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automating tests using Selenium, PyTest, JEST, Jasmine, and other testing tools.
  • Spanish Speaking would be an asset
