The Product Design Lead contributes to the overall success of Global Wealth Management’s (GWM) Digital Experience Design Team by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed & delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. They are responsible for leading & supporting Product Design responsibilities, including experience strategy, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, accessibility, and design systems adoption. They are accountable for defining design direction, improving design quality, creating UX runway, and translating customer insights, business priorities, and technical constraints into scalable product experiences.

- Define product design direction for assigned product journeys by establishing design principles, experience frameworks, and interaction models that align customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints
- Lead complex, multi-channel experience design by designing scalable user flows, interaction patterns, and interface solutions across web and native mobile experiences while maintaining consistency, accessibility, and implementation feasibility
- Shape information architecture and navigation strategy by creating frameworks, flows, and decision-making structures that improve findability, discoverability, and scalability across assigned product journeys
- Drive design quality and craft excellence by leading critiques, setting clear quality standards, and ensuring visual, interaction, accessibility, brand, and implementation decisions meet customer and business expectations
- Advance research-informed product decisions by partnering with Research, Product, Technology, and Content Design to frame discovery work, synthesize insights, and translate evidence into actionable design recommendations
- Help shape design systems, standards, and reusable patterns by identifying scalable solutions, supporting adoption, and partnering with Design Operations and Technology to maintain consistency, flexibility, and quality across GWM digital products
- Influence product strategy through cross-functional partnership by working closely with Product Owners, Technology, Research, Content Design, and business partners to shape roadmaps, create sufficient discovery and design runway, and drive alignment on customer outcomes
- Mentor designers and strengthen design practice maturity by coaching teams, facilitating high-impact workshops, sharing methods and standards, and building capability in collaboration, accessibility, prototyping, and human-centered design
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 8+ years of experience in digital product design, UX, interaction design, service design, or a related discipline, including complex web and native mobile product experiences
- 3+ years of design leadership experience, including mentoring designers, leading design workstreams, and influencing cross-functional initiatives
- Post-secondary education in design, human-computer interaction, digital media, technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered
- Experience defining product design direction, interaction models, information architecture, and experience frameworks for product journeys, channels, or portfolio areas
- A proven ability to lead discovery and design through ambiguity, translating customer needs, research insights, product metrics, and technical constraints into clear design strategies
- Experience leading design quality through critiques, reviews, accessibility checks, design QA, stakeholder presentations, and alignment with brand and design system standards
- Experience partnering with Product, Technology, Research, Content Design, Design Systems, Analytics, and business stakeholders to influence roadmaps and customer outcomes
- High proficiency with Figma, including components, variants, prototyping, documentation, and developer handoff; familiarity with tools such as FigJam, Jira, Confluence, UserTesting, Adobe Analytics, and Microsoft 365
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to use research, usability signals, product metrics, OKRs/KPIs, and business priorities to inform design decisions
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations
- Working knowledge of Agile, Lean, dual-track product development, WCAG/AODA accessibility standards, inclusive design practices, and design maturity practices
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, shipped digital experiences, design craft, systems thinking, and measurable customer or product impact
- Experience in regulated, enterprise, financial services, wealth management, banking, fintech, or B2B environments is an asset
- A strong understanding of responsive web, iOS, Android, and front-end implementation considerations, including platform constraints, accessibility implications, and engineering trade-offs
