Who We Are:

 

Global Banking and Markets Business Continuity, Operational Resiliency and Facilities Team is responsible for the GBM OR and BC programs to prevent, respond to and remediate business disruptions in compliance with regulations, policies, procedures across our global footprint. The Facilities team focuses on Trade Floor Facilities, and Real Estate for GBM business lines globally including the execution of large, high profile business critical projects.


Your Work Term At-A-Glance:
 

You will be working on files related to both Operational Resilience and Facilities mandates and will assist with planning for GBM Real Estate programs globally.
 

  • Assist with ensuring currency and accuracy of all Business Continuity Management Unit (BCMU) mandated documentation.
  • Assist in overseeing of 3rd party contracts to ensure compliance with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) policies. Contribute to GBM BCP and resilience related committees, crisis task forces and working groups (external and internal).
  • Contribute to GBM real estate related committees and working groups
  • Assist in compiling accurate staff lists, developing and executing movement and relocation plans as well as  seating allocations.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

This role is for you if you are/have:
 

  • An interest in understanding support and enabling functions related to banking
  • An interest in developing leadership and team working knowledge and skills
  • An interest in working with a broad range of departments including trade floor, back office and risk management groups
  • Strong organizational skills and able to handle concurrent high priority tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, both written and oral
  • Enrolled in an MBA program
