What you will be doing:

 

The Mortgage Accounting Clerk (MAC) provides administrative support to Scotia Mortgage Authority (SMA), Home Financing Solutions (HFS), eHOME, and Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL). You’ll deliver high-quality service to Mortgage Fulfilment Officers (MFOs), Underwriters, Solicitors, and customers by accurately processing entries in a timely manner. Responsibilities include posting, verifying, and balancing entries using Forms Free Teller (FFT), Wire Payments, Term Lending System (TLS), and ScotiaConnect, preparing payout statements, and managing bridge loan payouts and discharge requests in line with Scotiabank policies.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Process, verify, and balance entries using Forms Free Teller (FFT), Wire Payments, Term Lending System (TLS), and ScotiaConnect.
  • Prepare and post payout statements, discharge requests, and bridge loan payouts in compliance with Scotiabank policies.
  • Reconcile daily transactions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity as advised by Operations and Corporate Services (OCS), Mortgage Accounting Officers, MFOs, lawyers, branches, and your Team Leader.
  • Issue mortgage-related statements, process customer debt payouts, and handle escalation entries.
  • Maintain inboxes for Bridge Loans and Escalations; ensure work meets SLA timelines.
  • Adhere to privacy, security, and regulatory guidelines; maintain confidentiality and follow Clean Desk Policy.
  • Provide feedback on process improvements and contribute to a positive team culture.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Knowledge of Scotiabank mortgage products, policies, and systems (FFT, ScotiaConnect, SMART Funding, Term Lending System, KS (VISA), TLS, MIMS) is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience preferred; post-secondary education is an asset.
