Purpose

 

Contributes to the overall success of Integrated Marketing for MD Financial Management in Canada within Global Wealth Marketing, ensuring that business strategies, plans and initiatives are successfully supported by integrated marketing plans and campaigns that are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationship, systems and knowledge.
• Contributes to personalized and insight-driven marketing strategies that differentiate MD Financial Management in the market by cultivating a deep understanding of physicians and the unique financial challenges and opportunities they face throughout their careers, from applying to med school all the way through to retirement.
• Participates in acquisition campaign strategy for MD Financial Management in support of the business’s priorities and growth targets, ensuring that lead-generation campaigns are optimized to meet marketing qualified lead (MQL) targets derived from MD’s net-new client targets. 
• Utilizes the end-to-end go-to-market strategy and process through which marketing campaigns are planned and executed, including campaign objectives, research and insights gathering, defining target audiences, developing strategies, executing plans and measuring performance.
• Champions Marketing by developing and leveraging key relationships across a network of trusted partners to support the team’s outcomes, which include business line management teams, the broader marketing organization, Technology, Compliance, Legal and relevant vendors and agencies. 
• Partners with the Advisor Marketing team to ensure integration of marketing plans and campaigns across corporate-level and advisor-level activities.
• Partners with Global Events Marketing team to ensure integration of marketing plans and campaigns across MD’s event calendar.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

•    Supports the MD Financial business line across Canada
•    Collaboration across various teams (centres of excellence) within Global Marketing to ensure strong coordination of efforts, delivery of necessary services, alignment to business and marketing goals and KPIs and overall strategies
•    Responsibility for budget reconciliation, invoicing and approval processes through Senior Manager
•    Regulated by IIROC, CSA, Bank Act 

 


Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if:

 

  • University degree or community college diploma in marketing, communications or business, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the development and execution of marketing/communications programs with emphasis on digital marketing
  • Solid understanding of the financial services and wealth management industry
  • Experience translating client needs and requirements into marketing plans
  • Excellent communication skills combined with effective relationship-building abilities
  • Effectively works autonomously, independently and with a strong ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with ability to take initiative to ensure successful outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences to new points of view
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include varying skills/competencies.
  • Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of prospect and client segments
  • Knowledge of physicians/medical profession and/or Canadian healthcare environment is an asset
  • Agile marketing experience an asset
  • Experience with web-based project management tools (such as Workfront) considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset 

                                        
Working Conditions

 

Participate in a geographically diverse team in a standard office-based environment with the expectation of 4 in office days with one remote/flex day. Occasional domestic travel required, primarily between Toronto, where Scotiabank is headquartered, and Ottawa, where MD Financial Management is headquartered.
