The PLATO team is comprised of engineers, problem solvers, agilists and creatives in roles such as Enterprise Platform Engineering and Architecture, Enterprise Data Services, Cloud Infrastructure and Architecture, Product Engineering, and Product Management. Scotiabank’s Platform Organization (PLATO) is a technology modernization department in the Information Technology & Solutions group that is working to define the future of technology in banking, and create a better customer experience.   We are looking for individuals with passion for innovation and revolutionary ideas to join our team in our journey to modernize the Bank.


You have a natural curiosity about emerging technologies and how they can be used to improve people’s lives. You are familiar with product development methodologies and technical considerations within financial services. You employ strong influencing skills to negotiate with all levels of leadership to obtain commitment to your approach.  You take seriously that you are a custodian of your customers’ well-being and an integral part of your business’s success and proactively seek to align the two at all times.


Mandate & Span of Authority:


As a Market Segment Manager, your mandate is to deliver initiatives related to the achievement of your market(s)’ annual planTo execute your mandate, you will work with your Market colleagues and cross-departmental team members in 1 or more markets (technology organization) within one or more line of business. 





  • Manage expectations with your markets and colleagues around any commitments made
  • Participate in the development of annual market plans, focused on modernization and NPS improvements, specifically by identifying tactics and initiatives which have SMART goals attached to them
  • Deliver on tactics and initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the annual market plans, in collaboration with your Market team and cross-departmental team
  • Maintain a market profile document that is part of the PLATO on-boarding package, to familiarize new PLATO team members with an overview of business and technology group strategies and goals, key stakeholders and other important information, relevant to internal PLATO team members
  • Understand the roles and superpowers of colleagues in other parts of PLATO and EA as well as other areas of IT (e.g. IS&C and GTS) to leverage them in the delivery of your programs
  • Other duties as assigned based on level and competencies




  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Science, Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in a customer-facing delivery or market engagement
  • Knowledge of Agile, Product, and traditional delivery frameworks
  • Experience working in, and influencing, cross-functional, matrixed teams
  • Experience working with senior leadership and influencing decision making at that level
  • Experience in financial services industry is an asset
  • Spanish language skills are an asset
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Excellent ability to analyze data and translate findings into strategic planning information
  • Knowledge of customer engagement tools and methodologies
