The Director will lead strategic initiatives across multiple business disciplines, driving iTRADE’s growth strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for transformation, deep experience in Digital and Technology, and strong knowledge of direct investing space.
This role will operate in a fast-paced, agile environment, managing multiple initiatives of varying complexity with minimal supervision. Success will depend on strong collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders within Scotia iTRADE and across Wealth and Retail Banking.
Major Accountabilities:

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Is accountable for all aspects of iTRADE product and platform management and growth strategy, including P&L management, product strategy, pricing and offers, market data, client programs, client education, platform capabilities, and hybrid advice.

P&L Management: Work with Finance partners to manage the iTRADE Profit and Loss statement, including setting financial goals/targets and managing to those targets.

Product Strategy: Maintain a best-in-class product offering through continuous shelf optimization. Develop new product capabilities and offerings in partnerships with Global Investment Solutions, Global Banking & Markets and Global Asset Management. Continuously innovate to meet changing client needs and keep up with industry trends.

Pricing and Offers: Develop and continuously optimize a growth-oriented pricing strategy that aligns with Retail and Wealth segmented pricing. Manage and grow our acquisition and engagement campaigns through competitive analysis, offer tests, and marketing & leads optimization in partnership with Wealth and Retail Analytics, Global Marketing and our Retail Branch partners.

Client Programs: Manage and optimize our suite of client programs including but not limited to iCLUB, Commission-Free ETFs, Retail & Wealth Bundles, through client & competitive research and impact analytics. Ensure alignment between program offerings and updated client segmentation. Stay up-to-date on changing industry and competitive landscape and evolve our offering to maintain differentiation within the market.

Client Education: Build and maintain a best-in-class client education program through customized content, channel optimization strategies and effective client engagement.

Market Data: Maintain a robust market data offering for clients while optimizing costs through active vendor management. Stay informed of evolving data landscape and continuously assess our offering against best-in-class US and Canadian platforms.

Platform Capabilities and Usage: In partnership with Wealth Digital, continue to evolve our online and web trading platforms to ensure an optimal client experience. Continuously innovate across our platforms to improve the client experience and improve our competitive positioning.

Hybrid Advice: Develop a hybrid advice offering for iTRADE clients that is integrated into the broader Scotia ecosystem through partnership with Retail Investments, Retail Distribution, Global Wealth Solutions, Canadian Wealth Management, Digital and Technology.

Leverage data and analytics to understand client and market behaviours. Work with distribution, marketing and analytics partners to build and maintain performance reporting trackers.

Play a key role in developing and executing a multi-year strategy to grow Scotiabank’s Direct Investing business by partnering with multiple stakeholders across Retail, Digital, Analytics, Technology, Marketing and Wealth.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Work Experience/Designations:
-
Minimum of 10+ year’s supervisory and senior management experience working in the financial services industry, with preference of retail online brokerage background.

Previous experience with sales, product and marketing an asset

Previous product management and digital strategy experience required

Proven ability to drive revenue generation

Partners, Directors and Officers, Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practices Handbook an asset.

Expert knowledge of the regulatory environments applicable to the investment management industry

Strong knowledge of the technological platforms underlying the online brokerage industry and how they support delivery, distribution and client experience

Strong knowledge of the domestic online brokerage industry including products, markets and risk management practices
-
Requires strong leadership skills with extensive experience leading teams.

Must be highly motivated and able to influence and motivate others

Superior independent problem-solving skills and sound judgment

Requires ability to work collaboratively within and across business units to achieve results
