The Manager of Mass & Product Marketing Strategy for Retail Investments leads the creative development and execution of mass advertising (above the line) campaigns, as well as new product launches, for Scotiabank’s retail investments products and plans. Working in close collaboration with internal creative/media partners, as well as external creative/media agencies, you’ll champion our go-to-market process and strategize, implement, and share the performance of our campaigns.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

  • Work with our partners to develop positioning, write briefs, and manage the creative development for mass advertising campaigns, as well as new product launches, to drive awareness and consideration of our retail investments products and plans. You’ll also review media plans for these campaigns.
  • Manage the mass marketing creative strategy for the following channels: TV, cinema, online video, out-of-home, radio, activations/stunts, public relations, print and more. Occasional execution in owned channels (email, SOL/owned, branch) or digital channels may be needed, but they’re not primary responsibilities.
  • Leverage research, competitive analyses, consumer-first thinking, best-practices, and past results/learnings to position and differentiate our investments products effectively.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal marketing teams, and both internal and external agencies, to deliver against marketing strategies.
  • Build strong and effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Champions collaboration between key partners including Business Lines, Journey Management and Enterprise Growth Marketing,

 

Legal and Compliance teams.  

 

  • Unites all stakeholders around a unified visual brand and creative excellence, using results, research, and marketing expertise to ensure our marketing is consistently breaking through and driving results.
  • Track, report, and support the creative strategy to optimize marketing campaign KPIs.
  • Partner with Engagement and Digital lead teammates to deliver integrated full-funnel marketing campaigns and experiences.


 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

 

  • University degree in marketing, communications or business, or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant marketing and/or account management agency experience in the development and execution of marketing programs, with experience on mass creative advertising (above the live) channels 
  • Experience managing projects in a large/matrix organization is an asset
  • Experience with web-based project management tools (such as Workfront) considered an asset, but not a requirement
  • Strong research, analytical and interpretation skills in developing new strategies or initiatives to drive business growth
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills, including attention to detail and a focus on milestones and deadlines
  • Ability to translate client needs and requirements into marketing plans
  • Proactively stay current with creative marketing best practices, strategies, and competitor activities 
  • Strong ability to independently deliver on objectives and handle a significant level of autonomy
  • Action-oriented; deals with situations and issues proactively, seizing opportunities that arise
  • Strong ability to handle multiple concurrent and time-sensitive priorities
