The team:

The Global Telephony team has accountabilities throughout the bank’s geographical footprint and is responsible for providing our 40,000+ employees with robust and reliable voice communication solutions. The Trade Floor Telephony technology team is a critical component of the Global Telephony team and is responsible for supporting essential, revenue generating teams on Scotiabank’s trade floors across the globe in a fast-paced, challenging yet rewarding environment. The team is also accountable for the delivery of a complex and critical service catalogue ensuring line of business (LOB) alignment and the overall strategy.

 

The role:

Reporting to the Director of the Global Unified Communications and Employee Access Provisioning, you will lead a high performance IT team by providing leadership, strategic direction & management supervision for all activities; including the delivery and support of reliable Turret and Voice recording technology in a fast paced environment. Primary focus is managing the day to day operations, project delivery, trader voice circuits and regulatory compliance.  As part of your directive to ensure system availability for a critical communication tool you will be reachable 24x7 and will participate in annual system and site disaster recovery (DR) testing.  As the scope of this team is global, travel (both domestic and international) may be required.

  • You will participate in Change Management for production deployment support.
  • You will participate in Incident Management, Problem Management and support Audit activities for supported production environments.
  • You will analyze issues, identify root causes and work towards fixes.
  • You will provide back up support to other managers and to the Director.
  • You can mentor and coach more junior members of the team sharing your knowledge to grow the team through the individuals.
  • You will support the bank in terms of legal and regulatory compliance requests

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You have at least 3+ years of working experience as a team lead and/or technical lead and/or technical people manager.
  • You have at least 4+ years of hands-on technical working experience supporting a trade floor environment; and in particular with BT brand Turret telephony technologies (e.g., ITS pV405Hi and/or ITS Netrix and/or ITS Hi-Touch and/or IP Trade turrets).
  • You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the RedBox voice recording platform & with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Telephony systems.
  • You possess excellent communication (verbal/written) skills with users, developers, stakeholders & management.
  • You can work well across many teams, geographies, cultures and environments.
  • You have a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study.
