Purpose
 

Maintain GWO Settlements & Clearing for Securitizations, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Support Global Banking and Markets (Scotia Capital INC) and Group Treasury strategies with necessary systems, processes, controls, and infrastructure. This includes asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and debt securities.
 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Manage and administer all operational activities for the GWO Securitizations team.
• Manage the analysis used for pooling, documentation, and administration processes for Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) and Canada Mortgage Bond (CMB).
• Work with the GBM and GT desks on new initiatives and programs to support the bank's liquidity and capital ratios.
• Create and update SOPs, process maps, and workflows to document daily procedures and deliverables.
• Create coverage depth to ensure operational continuity during vacations, planned absences, and leaves.
• Work with stakeholders and assistant managers to optimize processes, remove redundancies, and align with the core mandate of the team.
• Ensure a balanced workload among team members, providing information analysis to the Senior Manager to assist in decision-making and resource allocation.
• Participate in relevant technology initiatives, external and internal audits to ensure compliance for the GWO Securitizations team.
• Identify, analyze, understand, and control significant risks inherent in assigned operating units, maintaining key controls at acceptable levels.
• Understand how the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
 

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience in the securitization space, specifically MBS and CMB.
• Background in reconciliation and settlements is an asset.
• Process optimization experience is an asset.
   

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
