The Role
As Manager, Registrations, you will play a key role in supporting the success of the Registration function in Canada. You’ll lead a team of Registration Officers, oversee day‑to‑day registration activities, and ensure all processes meet regulatory, internal policy, and risk management requirements. This is a hands‑on leadership role with accountability for service quality, regulatory compliance, and team performance.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead and coach a team of approximately six Registration Administrators, supporting their day‑to‑day performance across registration, maintenance, and termination activities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of registrations, including new applications, ongoing compliance, and de‑registrations
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex or sensitive registration matters that require regulatory interpretation or judgment
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for business partners and internal stakeholders
- Partner closely with Compliance, Business Lines, and Regulators to resolve issues, manage timelines, and maintain strong working relationships
- Allocate resources and manage workflows to ensure service levels and regulatory deadlines are consistently met
- Review documentation, approvals, and correspondence with regulators, escalating matters to the Director, Registrations where appropriate
- Identify process gaps or risks within registration activities and recommend improvements
- Operate with a strong risk and control mindset, ensuring compliance with regulatory, AML/ATF, operational risk, and conduct standards
- Foster an inclusive, high‑performance team environment focused on coaching, development, and succession planning
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A university degree or college diploma/certificate
- Prior experience in financial services, with hands‑on experience in a registration or licensing role
- Prior experience managing a team – a strong asset
- Practical, working knowledge of Canadian securities registration requirements, with exposure to U.S. regulations considered an asset
- Strong understanding of National Instruments 33‑103 and 33‑109
- Experience interacting with regulators, ideally CIRO, including submissions and regulatory inquiries
- Familiarity with NRD (National Registration Database) - a strong asset
- Proven ability to interpret regulations and explain them clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
