Purpose

Leads and oversees OTC Confirmations globally ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Pro-actively identify, organize and implement changes positively affecting the efficiency, productivity and risk control of the unit’s operations through:
    • Regular review of operational workflows to identify control requirements or redundancies, best practices, and opportunities for technological efficiencies.
    • Ensuring the department’s standard operating procedures and static data is documented, accessible, reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
  • Motivate staff to increase individual performances, implement training schedules, engineer, and distribute operational workflow fairly by:
    • Organizing / assigning workstation tasks to best meet business objectives and customer service expectations;
    • Monitoring work in progress / daily transaction volumes via various management information and control reports to ensure workstation workloads are fairly distributed;
    • Identifying key contributors to team success and support them through coaching and encourage regular staff participation in the Employee Development and Performance program;
  • Contributes to the implementation of technology solutions used for trade confirmations to improve operations support by: 
    • Providing feedback and support for User Acceptance Testing activities for ongoing system enhancement or implementation of new systems.
    • Supporting trouble shooting activities related to unexpected, unplanned system production issues when required.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the functions and processes the team uses in the performance of its assigned responsibilities and of the controls in place to ensure appropriate risk and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of the products supported, the numerous depositories used globally and the rules and regulations governing both.
  • Extensive knowledge of OTC derivative products, structure of derivative transactions and the finance principles that underlie them.
  • Extensive knowledge of ISDA Definitions, related templates, and the ability to interpret and apply them to transactions.

Work Arrangement: Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Travel may be required on an exception basis.
