Purpose:


The Manager is responsible for leading a loan operations team of 3 to 5 staff in delivering quality administrative services to Corporate Clients relative to credit facilities generated by GBM and other BNS units wherein the Bank is an agent, participant lender or direct lender in a credit facility. The Manager is responsible for supervising a team of Assistant Managers and Analysts working together with the Director / Senior Manager and / other Managers to oversee quality execution of all administrative duties in a timely manner, meeting team productivity targets, execute staffing plans, monitor and oversee operational controls and form part of the working management team. 


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:


• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships.

• Managing a team responsible for the administration of agented syndicated and participated credit facilities, including limit management, disbursement/settlement of loans. 

• Ensuring that terms and conditions of authorized credits and/or loan documentation are being adhered to including pricing, term, limits etc. 

• Communicating effectively with various internal and external parties such as Agent and participant Banks Relationship Managers and customers in order to provide guidance/.information to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner. 

• Recognizing and escalating exceptions to policies and procedures to the attention of Senior Manager/Director for further guidance and resolution.  

• Developing a solid knowledge of loan platform, Loan IQ to ensure accuracy of posting accounting entries to source system and business line dissemination. 

• Assist Director, Senior Manager in various team-related tasks, resolution of exception items as well as special project-related work.

• Oversee and monitor team productivity, staffing and work volume information and report to Senior Manager on a weekly basis.

• Provide guidance and coaching to team members on an ongoing basis. 

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 

• Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:


• University undergraduate degree in finance or business-related studies or equivalent.
• Knowledge and working experience in corporate lending services.
• Knowledge of the Loan Markets.


Work Arrangement:


• Work in a standard office-based environment and remote as applicable during pandemic; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Work may include Canadian or US or UK statutory holidays. Limited travel domestically.
