The Role
The Manager, Loan Closing is responsible for executing end‑to‑end loan closing activities across primary and secondary loan trades. This includes trade confirmation, assignment execution, and preparation of pricing letters, acting as both Trade Counterparty and Agent.
This role requires strong hands‑on expertise in loan market settlement processes, LSTA/LMA standards, ClearPar workflows, and Loan IQ processing. The Manager serves as a technical subject matter expert and contributes to execution accuracy, process efficiency, and control enhancements. This role may or may not include people management responsibilities.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Execute and settle a high volume of loan trades within market settlement timelines as Counterparty and Agent.
- Perform trade confirmations, assignments, and preparation of pricing letters.
- Execute and support Front Office / Back Office reconciliations.
- Perform daily limit monitoring and escalate breaches in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure KYC and onboarding approvals are in place prior to settlement.
- Identify and escalate processing issues, documentation gaps, and settlement risks.
- Support process improvements, control enhancements, and system initiatives (e.g., STP, platform upgrades).
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Loan IQ and front-end trading systems to ensure accurate posting and reporting.
- Contribute subject matter expertise to initiatives supporting agented syndicated and participated facilities.
- Support exception resolution and special projects as required.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- End‑to‑end experience with the loan market and loan closing lifecycle, covering primary and secondary loan trades.
- Hands‑on execution of loan settlement activities as both Trade Counterparty and Agent.
- Strong technical knowledge of LSTA and LMA market standards.
- Direct experience settling par and distressed loan trades, including documentation and settlement workflows.
- Hands‑on use of ClearPar for trade confirmation, assignments, and settlement processing.
- Working knowledge of Loan IQ, including settlement processing, accounting entries, and downstream impacts.
- Experience performing Front Office / Back Office reconciliations.
- Experience executing daily limit monitoring and breach escalation.
- Prior involvement in process changes, control implementations, or system-related enhancements within loan closing operations.
- Knowledge of corporate lending services.
- People management experience preferred.
