The Role

As the Manager, Corporate Lending Services – Canadian Agency & Bilateral, you will lead a highperforming loan operations team responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and highquality administrative services to Corporate Clients. These services support credit facilities generated by Global Banking & Markets (GBM) and other Scotiabank business lines where the Bank acts as Agent or direct Lender.

You will supervise Assistant Managers and Analysts, partnering closely with senior leaders to ensure efficient execution of daily operations, strong internal controls, and achievement of productivity and service standards. This role plays a key part in operational risk mitigation, team leadership, and supporting the broader strategic goals of the Corporate Lending Services organization.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Champion a customerfocused culture, fostering strong client relationships while supporting broader Bank partnerships.
  • Lead and coach a team responsible for administering agented syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, including limit management and loan disbursement/settlement.
  • Ensure accurate adherence to all credit terms, loan documentation, pricing, limits, and regulatory/compliance obligations.
  • Serve as a primary point of communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Lenders, Relationship Managers, corporate clients), resolving inquiries and issues promptly.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve exceptions to policies and procedures, ensuring timely guidance and risk mitigation.
  • Develop expertise in Loan IQ, ensuring accurate accounting entries and data integrity across platforms.
  • Support senior leaders with exception resolution, operational tasks, and projectrelated initiatives.
  • Monitor team productivity and workload, providing weekly reporting to the Senior Manager and supporting staffing/resource planning.
  • Provide continuous coaching and performance feedback, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Embed risk and controls into daily operations, ensuring compliance with Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance, AML/ATF, and Conduct Risk frameworks.
  • Contribute to building an inclusive, highperformance culture, supporting talent development, succession planning, and alignment with Bank values and strategic direction.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • A university degree in finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience in corporate lending services or loan operations, including syndicated and/or bilateral credit facilities.
  • Knowledge of loan processing, credit facility structures, and loan documentation requirements.
  • Experience with loan administration systems, ideally Loan IQ or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of operational controls, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks related to lending operations (e.g., credit terms, pricing, limits, AML/ATF, and operational risk controls).
  • Strong technical proficiency in analyzing loan data, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and ensuring alignment with authorized credit terms.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines within loan operations.
