Purpose
The Manager, Agency Lending Control - Collateral Operations, provides global operational support for the Collateral Operations team within the Global Wholesale Operations (GWO) division. This team supports the Bank's global business lines by facilitating complex, high-value collateralized transactions. The role involves significant accounting and risk management responsibilities.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Manage Agency Lending reconciliation processes.
- Maintain internal and external Agency Lending networks.
- Ensure efficient, economical operations and a robust control framework.
- Control specialized securities and cash margin settlement risks.
- Communicate and implement changes impacting assigned areas.
- Lead the Agency Lending Control team and foster relationships with key business partners.
- Provide focused customer service and set examples for the team.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and address outstanding problems.
- Measure and improve Key Performance Indicators.
- Coordinate Root Cause Problem Solving and recommend solutions to senior management.
- Support project activities and ensure successful implementation.
- Manage team expenses prudently.
- Ensure service levels meet customer needs according to Scotia Service Standards.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
- Operations background in a Financial Institution preferred
- Expert knowledge of:
- Securities Lending industry (borrowed, lent, and managed)
- Collateral operations systems (Global One, Anvil, CDS, DTC)
- Tri-party platforms
- Bank policies and regulatory requirements
- Strong people management, leadership, and coaching abilities.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, notably Excel and Power BI.
Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
