Purpose

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Client & Segment Analytics within Canadian Banking Analytics, the Manager, Client & Segment Analytics is responsible for delivering actionable client insights, business intelligence, and analytics-driven recommendations that support the bank's client growth, engagement, primacy, retention, and profitability objectives. The incumbent will analyze client behaviours, segment performance, customer trends, and emerging opportunities, translating complex data into clear recommendations that support business decisions and client-centric strategies.

This role is an individual contributor position with end-to-end accountability for assigned analytics and business intelligence projects. The Manager will define analytical approaches, coordinate data and delivery requirements, conduct or oversee analysis, develop dashboards and reporting solutions, communicate findings, and support implementation and measurement. The incumbent will manage stakeholder relationships and work closely with business, campaign, strategy, marketing, channel, technology, and analytics partners to drive alignment, adoption, and measurable business impact.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, business intelligence, project management, communication, and relationship management capabilities. The incumbent must be comfortable operating independently, managing multiple priorities, navigating ambiguity, and working across specialized analytics functions including Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Customer Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Personalization, Pricing, Channel Analytics, and Data & Technology teams.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • The incumbent will provide analytical and BI support to Canadian Banking partners by identifying client and segment trends, uncovering growth opportunities, measuring strategic outcomes, and recommending actions that improve client acquisition, primacy, engagement, retention, cross-sell, and relationship depth. The role is accountable for managing assigned initiatives from problem definition through delivery, including stakeholder alignment, work planning, analytical execution, solution development, quality assurance, communication, implementation support, and ongoing performance monitoring. The incumbent will also contribute to executive presentations, planning discussions, governance updates, and leadership reporting that advance the bank's client-focused growth agenda.
  • Own analytics and BI projects end-to-end, from intake and problem definition through scoping, work planning, data assessment, analysis, solution development, quality assurance, stakeholder review, implementation support, and post-launch measurement.
  • Deliver client and segment analytics across Canadian Banking, generating insights and recommendations that improve client acquisition, primacy, engagement, retention, profitability, and overall relationship depth.
  • Support the development, execution, and evolution of the bank's client segmentation strategy by translating segment frameworks into practical analytics, measurement, reporting, and business applications.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across business, product, marketing, campaign, channel, finance, analytics, technology, and data teams. Build credibility, clarify needs, align expectations, communicate progress, and resolve delivery risks or dependencies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to frame questions, establish hypotheses, define success measures, size opportunities, assess trade-offs, and recommend actions that balance client experience, revenue growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term objectives.
  • Manage the design, development, enhancement, and ongoing performance of dashboards, scorecards, reporting frameworks, and self-service BI solutions. Ensure outputs are accurate, consistent, intuitive, scalable, well-documented, and aligned with business decision needs.
  • Develop measurement frameworks for client growth and engagement initiatives, including clear KPIs, baselines, targets, performance monitoring, test-and-learn approaches, and processes that enable continuous optimization.
  • Conduct client, segment, and portfolio analysis using appropriate analytical techniques to identify behavioural trends, performance drivers, emerging risks, growth opportunities, and areas for intervention.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear business narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leaders and stakeholders through presentations, written updates, dashboards, and executive-level communications.
  • Provide delivery leadership without direct reports by coordinating contributors, clarifying roles and timelines, maintaining project discipline, sharing expertise, and supporting the development of peers and junior colleagues through coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize tools, processes, data pipelines, reporting, and analytical workflows through cloud capabilities, automation, standardization, and reusable solutions that improve speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Identify and apply practical AI-enabled analytics and BI approaches that improve insight generation, quality, consistency, and efficiency, while following responsible use, governance, privacy, and risk requirements.
  • Maintain strong analytical controls through documented logic, reconciliation, peer review, testing, version management, traceability, and clear communication of assumptions, limitations, and data quality considerations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, assess urgency and value, maintain transparent plans, escalate issues appropriately, and adapt delivery approaches as business needs evolve.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Canadian Banking priorities, client needs, products, financial drivers, competitive trends, and emerging industry practices, using this knowledge to improve analytical relevance and business impact.
  • Champion a client-focused culture that deepens relationships and leverages the bank's broader capabilities, systems, and expertise.
  • Understand and apply the bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions, while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, controls, regulatory requirements, privacy obligations, and risk management frameworks.
  • Support an environment of integrity, accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement while contributing to the bank's broader strategic objectives.
