The Manager, Wealth Data Operations, plays a vital role within the Global Wealth Management (GWM) Data Centre of Excellence (Data CoE). This role will lead a team responsible for the quality of core wealth operations data including pricing, reference data, transactions, and inputs to the performance calculation for client accounts. This individual will also be responsible for validating analytics such performance reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial data management, performance measurement, and a keen eye for detail. This role contributes to fostering an insight-driven culture.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the quality and accuracy of financial data
  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics, such as accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, to identify and resolve data issues
  • Oversee data cleansing and validation processes to maintain the integrity of wealth operations data
  • Manage the end-to-end process of performance calculation, from data input to final reporting
  • Validate the accuracy of performance returns and ensure they are calculated in accordance with industry standards and client agreements
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to performance data and calculations
  • Prepare and review reports for wealth management clients, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and delivered on time
  • Analyze data and reporting to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement
  • Provide support for ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from clients and internal stakeholders
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data and performance analysts
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team
  • Identify opportunities to improve data management and reporting processes
  • Implement new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including the adoption of generative AI
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, IT, business line functions and portfolio management, to streamline operations workflows and improve data integration

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • An MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CIPM) is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in financial data management, performance measurement, or a similar role within the wealth management or investment industry
  • Proven experience in managing and validating large datasets
  • Experience with performance calculation and reporting for various asset classes
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, investment performance metrics, and data quality principles
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Excel, and performance measurement systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker) and Agile development methodologies is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders
  • A strong desire to learn, are a self-starter with a results-oriented mindset
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
