Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Global Transaction Banking globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

The Manager, Testing & Migrations supports the successful delivery of Scotiabank’s High Value Payments Modernization (HVPM) Program by coordinating and executing detailed testing cycles, migration activities, readiness workstreams, and multiplatform integration initiatives. This role ensures test plans, data, environments, and crossfunctional partners are aligned to enable safe, compliant, and onschedule modernization of highvalue payment flows across payment and supporting ecosystems.

 

This is a handson leadership role that bridges Technology, Operations, and Program Delivery teams—translating strategy into executable action, driving continuity across test phases, and ensuring migration cutovers are delivered with precision.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the development and execution of migration playbooks, dry runs, and cutover rehearsals. 
  • Document step by step procedures for legacy to modern platform transitions.
  • Assist in volume ramp up monitoring, reconciliation checks, and parallel run validation. 
  • Execute premigration and postmigration checkpoints, raising issues promptly to the Senior Manager.
  • Coordinate test environment bookings, data refreshes, configuration updates, and system availability with Technology and QA partners. 
  • Identify environment conflicts or constraints and escalate risks early. 
  • Track upstream/downstream dependencies across labs.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for testing and migration activities across Technology, Operations, Product, Change Management, and vendor teams. 
  • Participate in HVPM Working Groups, defect reviews, test standups, and readiness forums as required. 
  • Ensure alignment of detailed execution with broader program milestones and critical path items.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:

  • 4–7+ years of experience in payments, banking operations, technology delivery, or testing roles within financial services.
  • Working knowledge of high value payments (SWIFT MT/MX, Fedwire, CHIPS, Lynx) and associated reconciliation flows.
  • Excellent documentation, coordination, and communication skills; able to work confidently with both technical and nontechnical teams. 
  • Ability to manage deadlines and execute deliverables in a highly complex program environment.
  • Strong knowledge of product life cycle and agile delivery methodologies are preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, or with development teams directly (an asset).
  • Excellent communication, including the ability to distil technical details into human terms.
  • Experience acting as a constructive conduit between business and technology development teams.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of existing relationships between product, operations, and technology infrastructures to coordinate and monitor for cross-utility interdependencies, contributions and efficiencies in operations and technology platforms to maximize resources and ensure projects are aligned with business line and Enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and product development/agile methodologies, with a desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Works independently and effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Applies superior conflict management skills and expertise to persuade and negotiate effectively.
