Purpose
The Manager, Strategy & Transformation, will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives and shaping transformational projects across the Global Investment Solutions (GIS) team. The GIS strategic mandate and agenda is led by the SVP and Chief Investment Officer for Global Wealth Management (GWM) at Scotiabank.
Reporting directly to the Director, Strategy & Transformation, this role will help drive operational excellence, project execution, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with the team’s mandate to deliver innovative investment solutions and support accelerated growth across global distribution channels.
In addition to providing project support, the Manager will build strategic relationships across Global Investment Solutions and broader Scotiabank key stakeholders to understand opportunities, in support of strategic initiative and transformational projects.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives, including platform launches, cross-business communications plans, and new innovative solutions.
• Track deliverables, timelines, and outcomes for multi-stream projects across GIS and related business lines. In addition to tracking program KPIs and dashboards for program team and executive reporting.
• Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, including Global Banking & Markets, Global Asset Management, and regional GIS teams. Facilitate communication and alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Facilitate sessions for core team members to maintain, rollout or develop new work streams related to enabling the successful rollout of various GIS initiatives.
• Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive insights to inform strategy development and business recommendations.
• Assist in the development and delivery of change management plans and communication strategies to support transformation initiatives. Prepare presentations, reports, and updates for leadership and broader teams.
• Support the implementation of best practices in business controls, risk management, and compliance. Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Contribute to team culture initiatives, including Inclusion initiatives, talent development, and engagement activities.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Education / Experience / Other Information
• Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma
• Over 3 years’ experience in financial services, wealth management, or a transformation/ project management role
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with sound business judgement
• Strong communications and relationship management abilities are an asset
• Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
