Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and execution of the search engine optimization strategy for Scotiabank.com
  • The incumbent will be responsible for recommending and deploying web updates with the goal of increasing qualified organic search traffic to Scotiabank.com
  • Optimization responsibilities include:

    o   Site content recommendations and updates

    o   Link architecture

    o   Meta-tags and headlines

    o   Keyword research for existing and planned content

    o   Evaluating spider friendliness of websites and apps link building  

  • Expand the visibility and working knowledge of SEO across the organization through presenting and communicating SEO best practices, core findings and emphasizing the channels importance in the overall marketing mix
  • Optimize on-site content, copy, metadata, landing pages and internal/external links in an effort to increase SERP rankings of core products and services 
  • Monitor industry trends and communicate/address search engine algorithm updates and releases 
  • Coordinate with the paid search (SEM) team ensuring strategic alignment between both programs. Always think “One Search”    
  • Partner with website development team in an effort to optimize site source code for search engines
  • Liaise with marketing, brand and the various business lines to ensure there is channel alignment
  • Collaborate with internal marketing teams ensuring alignment of messaging and initiative focus. The incumbent will be responsible for understanding all integrated marketing activity and prioritizing SEO initiatives as they relate to organizational goals and core measures
  • Track, report and analyze overall natural search performance providing the business with actionable insights   

 

Requirements

  • Proven track record in managing large, complex search engine optimization programs
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Proficient with Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics and SEO analytic platforms (ScreamingFrog, BrightEdge, SEMrush, Moz etc.)   
  • Data driven mentality with advanced experience using Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics
  • Understanding of HTML, CMS, CSS and website administration
  • Familiarity with local search best practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate requirements and desired outcomes to both technical and non-technical groups
  • Strong working knowledge of SEM best practices
