Purpose

 

The Manager, Scotia Wealth Service Centre, is responsible for leading and overseeing the Scotia Wealth Service Centre – Wealth Management Operations in Canada. The Manager will ensure first class service is being provided to the Wealth Management field by of all of its team members, adhering to SLAs and ensuring all questions are fully resolved in an effective and efficient manner.

 

 

Accountabilities 

 

•    Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

•    Analysis of reporting of results for the teams performance including identifying coaching opportunities

•    Regularly scheduled one-on-one coaching with direct reports to recognize success, help overcome obstacles and set focus thereby ensuring continued improvement of knowledge, leadership and quality

•    Deliver educational, training, support material and guidance to Scotia Wealth Service Centre.

•    Develop, manage and maintain key support relationships to ensure effective coordination of support by all business partners

•    Collaboration with leaders across Wealth Management Operations, and Business lines to provide strong support to the business and all stakeholders to plan and deliver strategic; regulatory and operational business improvements.

•    Identify and advise management of areas where improved practices, systems or guidelines could enhance the achievement of business objectives.

•    Provide a level of expertise which assists with problem solving and solution recommendation with senior leadership of business lines and operations.

•    Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 

•    Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. 

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

•    10-15 employees
•    Supports Wealth Management Business lines and Canadian Wealth Operations
•    Impact to the client is significant should there be an error communication or guidelines therefore this team works to minimize/eliminate the impact
•    Is the point of escalation, maintains access to all Inboxes that SWSC supports
•    Will be required to perform trades and or interact with field to support team in meeting regulatory and department timelines
 

 

Education / Experience 

 

•    Previous knowledge of leading and managing large teams
•    Deep knowledge of the operational processes and systems used in support of Wealth Management business
•    Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
•    Excellence in Customer Experience design
•    Ability to work well in a team environment
•    CSC and or IFIC and CPH course completion
•    IIROC licensed would be an asset
